The Haemonculus just pays the tax. The rifle maybe lets him kill something at some point (hasn't worked yet).
The autarch is kitted out for mobility, and tank hunter where that might be worth it despite the possibility of giving up StWL. Worked out OK, once.
Truth to tell, I'd like to go
SL/
SL on the WarWalkers - but the lance is there in case they have to do double duty against a Helldrake or Stormraven. Thanks for the input on wargear. Maybe I'll use that to get a decent
HQ.
No love on the Wraithknight instead of the 'Walkers?
Even if your just taking the hamey for the tax to get
DE on the field, why bother taking him solo? One of the best things the hamey brings is a free pain token. Put em with your trueborn so they all have
FNP. The hexrifle is not really that bad, but don't expect it to do much of anything. Generally liquifier is better for a hamey in a boat(and in your list, your hamey should be in a raider/venom) but the rifle could still work ok.
If the autarch is kitted out to solo hunt tanks, then the mantle is perfect. Adding stealth and shrouded as well as re rolling cover saves drastically reduce the chance of giving up Slay the Warlord, and a laser lance makes him better against tanks in
CC as well as capable of fighting enemy squads in
CC. The other option is to go farseer with a spear and mantle so you can throw psychic powers. Either way, a solo bike
HQ in the eldar dex needs the mantle, no question.
The
AA feature is understandable for the walkers, but a single
TL lance shot is not impressive to down either a drake or raven. Better to guide
BL/
BL walkers or sheer dakka with scatter laser walkers. Also, I think the wraithknight is good, so are the walkers. They do different things and function differently, so neither option is better. It really depends on what you want.
