My first list with the new codex and I am still trying to find out what will work with the Black Templars. I have an idea of swapping out the terminators for some honor guard, but assault terminators have never proven me wrong. I know I dumped a lot of points into my HQ so we will see how he turns out. And yes, there is no Emperor's Champion. So let me know what you think!

Sounds good to me! Can't really think how to improve this, so have a sound tactical game and you should be doing well.

Thanks guys that really gives me hope I made a solid list. Not a whole lot has changed for me going from C:BT to C:SM, so we will see when it comes time to put them on the table. Only thing I am worried about is the fact the units wont hit as hard as they did in C:BT. No more rage, but all the other goodies make up for that.

I think the points you have listed for your Rhino squads are off. They look to be 228 points each to me:

Crusader Squad - 213 Points
Initiates x4 with Bolt Pistol and Close Combat Weapon
Initiate with Melta-gun
Initiate with Bolt Pistol, Power Fist
Neophyte x3 with Bolt Pistol and Close Combat Weapon
Sword Brother with Bolt Pistol, Power Sword, melta bombs

Breaking this down:

7 Initiates + 3 Neophytes = 128 Points
Meltagun, Power Fist, Power Sword, Melta Bombs, Sword Brother Upgrade = 65 points.
Add on the Rhino and we get a total of 228 points.

Am I missing something? Or did you forget to add in the Power Sword cost?

Also, I'd probably consider taking a Power Axe instead of the power fist in these squads, just so you get two attacks from that model when you aren't charging.

I was building out some crusader squads of my own and settled on this as my preferred squad build. It comes out to 213 exactly:

Crusader Squad (213 Pts)
7x Initiates
- 5x Bolt Pistol & CCW
- Meltagun
- Power Axe
- Sword Brother w/ Power Sword

- BP & CCW
