First i would like to say Merry Christmas
But the main question i have is are people still seeing a shortage of the models?
I know that locally for more i have been able to find models to include the starter set at three different places, one of which is the flgs.
i know when i was first wanting to start i saw people complaining about supply.
Is this still a problem or am i just lucky?

Around this side of the globe, ships are still sparse as all hell.

I live in a town just north of NYC and between Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and E-bay you can get every ship imaginable and in quantity.

Amazon had in several wave 1, 2, and 3 ships. I know this because I've been working in one of the distribution centers and have seen them from time to time.

Other than B Wings, they seem to have a very low stock from what I can tell.

Just be patient and look around. They're still out there, it just takes a bit of looking to find them. I went into a video game store the other day that had several. Would never have thought to look there, but I guess that's why they still had them. Call around to local stores and maybe you'll get lucky too.

Y-Wing and TIE Advanced reprints are shipping soon. Everything else that has been released is currently in-stock at Miniatures Market.

I ordered a TIE bomber, Lambda shuttle, the HWK and a B wing all from Amazon on 9th December, in plenty of time for delivery before Christmas. As it turns out, Amazon supplied the Lambda and HWK which arrived after a couple of days. The other B-wing and TIE bomber were supposed to be supplied by two Amazon Marketplace sellers - one waited a week and half before cancelling the order; the other went until 23rd December before claiming it was 'lost in the post' and refunding my money. So, Amazon i trust to supply what they say they have - 3rd party sellers it seems still don't have the stock they claim or that they wish.

Had to order the B-Wing and TIE Bomber from Gifts for Geeks; hopefully they will arrive soonish.

I don't play this game so don't know that there is a shortage of models going on. If you go into a large branch of Waterstones in England however they always have loads of all the ships. Maybe that may be where you need to go looking?

State side, I found that Barnes and Noble had a ridiculously large supply.

I found the TIE-A and Y-Wing at a local comics shop in Edmonton a couple weeks ago. I really think you just need to be patient, and ready to drop the big bucks when your store gets a shipment.

My local flgs had a x-wing and tie drop recently. Was amazing watching guys grabbing handfuls because they were the first we had seen for a good 6-7 months.
They are around if you are willing to pay the money, but you really have to have some money set aside ready so you can grab enough to keep you going when your flg gets some in stock.

Starter sets seem to be my biggest problem now :S

Ordered my replacement B-Wing and TIE Bomber from Gifts for Geeks just before Christmas day - they arrived yesterday. Excellent service.

Here in the States my local Target store has the starter set on clearance for $20. I picked one up yesterday for an extra set of dice and everything plus the three ships. My local FLGS has been able to get all of the single ships regularly except the Y-Wing so far.

Target and barnes and noble seem to be good places locally for me. I don't mind not having extra dice because I'm just using some regular dice i have from D&D.
I just got the tie advanced, Y wing and the millennium falcon for Christmas. Added to my starter, A wing, B wing, interceptor and extra tie fighter, I think I'm about good for now.

I've checked Target in Columbus, Ohio; Hackensack, NJ; Binghamton and Albany, NY; North Haven and Milford, CT and haven't found any on clearance. Probably tried a couple other times on the road for work, so I'd love to know where these mythical Targets are that have this game for <$20!

I live near State College, Pa. The Target I was in on Thursday literally had 20 starter boxes marked clearance $20. I only bought one so far but I'm thinking about picking up one or two more later this week just to get more ships for that price. If you need a box I'll gladly grab you one while I'm there.

Round here A-Wings, B-Wings, HWK's, Lambda Shuttles, Firesprays, YT-1300s, TIE Interceptors, and TIE Bombers are available in large quantities, X-Wings and TIE Fighters are availabe, but they aren't overabundant, Y-Wings and TIE Advanced are still rare as hens teeth however.

Is the Y-Wing any good or are people getting it because you can't have rebel alliance without one?

Just curious because I've ordered the starter set and I'm pondering what other ships to get.

You can play a rebel list without a Y-Wing.

I like the Y-Wing. It's pretty sturdy and flies under many people's radar.

I've heard of it; basically 4 generic pilots with Ion cannons, just fly in circles and shut down enemy maneuvering with their turrets. I've never seen it played, but I have heard positive things.

Huzzah! Tie Advanced arrived in the post from a UK Amazon marketplace seller. Some wags on ebay are trying to sell these for £50 plus.

My A-Wing order from a different UK marketplace seller got cancelled (gutted because it was only £5).

Still waiting on a Y-Wing from a US marketplace seller supposedly dispatched on 9th January.

Was able to pick up a Y-Wing for myself and a Tie Advanced for buddy last weekend at a FLGS, so I am sure they are trickling out.

I just orderd a bunch off there site last week waiting impatiently for them to arrive.

I think Miniaturemarket.com has all of the models in stock, and probably are to blame for the shortages , some of the models say they have 200+ on hand.

Lol, the common denominator seems to be a US flag next to your names.

In the UK, a few of the fighters - namely the Y-Wing, Tie Advanced and Tie Interceptors - are quite hard to find. The only shop in Southampton selling this stuff is Forbidden Planet and they only stock the core set, X Wings, Tie Fighters, the HWK, Millenium Falcon and Slave I.
