Hi all, I just had an interesting idea for a kill team. What do you think?

2x 5 man tac squad, no upgrades. One squad has razorback with HB and Storm Bolter.

Basically I would keep the razorback back until enemy anti armor is dead then troll with the razorback. The only thing I don't know how to deal with are enemy terminators.

What do you think?

What points are you thinking for a kill team?
Cause, if I'm not mistaking, this is over 200 points.
If you're playing by the current Kill Team rules, models with 2+ armor save aren't allowed to be taken. So you won't have to worry about terminators!

Current kill team rules(ish):
0-1 Elite
0-2 Troops
0-1 Fast Attack
You also get to designate 4 models in your army. 1 being the leader, and 3 being specialists. The specialists can take USRs! It's really neat, I highly suggest looking into the Kill Team rules they just put out if you haven't. But if you're playing by houserule kill teams, ignore me.

Aside form that, I think you got the right idea. The Razorback will be good against hordes and such, especially since it ignores cover saves(I think.) Just remember you're going to have to deal with high toughness models(such as bikers, jetbikes, and multiple wound models.)
I would suggest looking into taking a tac squad and some Land Speeders rather than a Razorback. Give the Speeders multi-meltas and then give the Tac squad a plasma gun(or a HB like you wanted.)

Really? Battlescribe says it's 200 pts on the dot. I'll look into land speeders, they seem like a good alternative.

Hmm, maybe look to update your battlescribe? I just opened mine up and your list comes out over 200.

Weird. I still have the old SM codex but battlescribe says a tac squad is only 70 pts. That might be the problem.

You don't have to worry about Terminators. Latest official Kill Team rules don't allow any models with 2+ armour saves.

Also, don't have the Codex in front of me, but Quartermaster agrees that a basic tac squad is 70 points. Remember that you now have to pay for the Veteran Sarge option which used to be included.

You might want to consider a 5 man scout squad for your second squad. They're only 55 points base which frees up 15 more points to upgrade the razorback OR give one marine a special weapon.

Sorry for the double posting... but how about this...

5 Tactical Marines, Sarge has a Storm Bolter and one Marine has a Plasma Cannon... make him Relentless.

Take a Rhino with 2 Storm Bolters and keep the Plasma Cannon dude inside to help protect him. I think he can fire from the Fire Point since he's relentless.

The rest of the points go to 5 Camo Cloaked Sniper Scouts. Hide them in ruins if possible for a 3+ cover save.

I'm fairly sure the original list is 200, 140 for tacs, 60 for 'back.

Anyway, the best Kill teams are fast and killy. Tactical marines don't really cut it if you have other options. Bikes would do better with mobile relentless firepower and maybe an attack bike to help out. You won't face any Terminators because 2+ saves are banned, so that's fine, but just bolters is going to be pretty lame if you end up against Wraithguard or something. Get some better weapons in there if you can, bikes are probably the most efficient way to do this and are very mobile also, perhaps some bikes with a couple fo Plasma Guns and an attack bike with a HB, I think you should have the points for that.

What do you think of a 6 man tac squad, sergeant has plasma pistol, chainsword, and the squad also has a plasma cannon. Also 3 bikes, one has a plasma gun. What do you think?

Not sure if this helps at all but I played my marines in a kill team match against a necron full wraith team. I ran 5 bikes with 2 melta guns and the vet sgt with combi melta and an attached attack bike with multi melta with white scars tactics. Lost only one bike to an unlucky assault and tabled him by round 4. The mobility and instant death meltas were undeniably invaluable. I would think a wraith team would be one of the hardest builds to face. I hope this helps some.

Sounds like a good list. My only problem: I only have the DV bikes. I could always buy more though.

In Army Builder two 5x man Tac squads and an RB with HB and SB comes to 205. The extra 5 is the SB.
