Outflanking

So, with a disappointing new Tyranids codex, I decided to dust of a little pet project from 5th ed. After the last Codex had hit, I had decided to make my own version which added back in Biomorphs, and fixed a few point cost issues. With the new book actually having fewer options, and more nerfs, than the now previous one, I decided to air my version out. Having updated the old generic units to 6th ed (more or less), I feel that it is time to get some community feedback (and yes, I will be the first to admit that this book is likely imbalanced/OP as heck, but am just to biased to see it).

The basic theme I am going for is more diversity, more reasonably priced units, more flavour, and the ability to actually ambush someone from reserves. Because I know that some of you will notice it, no, I am not adding Biomancy back in, and no, there is no source of Eternal Warrior. I feel that adding this on top of the much cheaper units, and adding in some of the old durability upgrades, would just be overkill. Personally, I would rather have cheaper units, and the ability to buy them fixed upgrades, than the option to roll on a random table.

With that being said, Dakka, I hope you feel free to tear apart the codex, each other, and my opinions on my ability to make a better book than GW. (Note that, unlike GW, if someone makes a good suggestion I will incorporate it).

Edit: Aaand I misspelled the title

So, I just glanced at this, will give it a proper read when I'm not at work, but there were a few things I wanted to comment on, all totally just my opinion.

Good Stuff:
Gargoyles Skyswarm: Love it, feels very Niddy.
Cheaper T4 creatures: They need some love
Cheaper creatures, more expensive upgrades: I like it, lets you field a horde or more elite Nids
More Upgrades for little bugs: Back to the glory days.

Bad Stuff:
Tyranid Alpha: Any Nid unit being effected (affected?) is too good for his price, think WS6/BS4 Carnifex broods or Hormagaunt Broods
3pt Hormagaunts: Too cheap, they are individually weak but that's 2 per Ork boy, and nearly 5 for every marine. 30 with a Prime is a buzzsaw unit that puts out 23-4 wounds on T4 on the charge without the Prime for less than 200pts.
Pyrovore: Too cheap, 25pts for a Torrent heavy flamer with AP3 melee is amazing. They might be flimsy but a unit coming in by Pod is rarely gonna fail to make it's points back against anything not wearing power armour. Hell, at 75pts I'd let 3 of them walk forward.

Some good stuff though, most of my issues stem from points which are always a bugger to get spot on.
