Doing a campaign with a friend with progressing characters, so I thought I'd be fluffy and use Farsight.
I used the Farsight Enclaves fluff as basis for these.

I don't get the conditional Eternal Warrior, that makes no sense.

So only when he is protecting someone is he immune to getting gibbed by a lascannon, but if you just shoot him with a lascannon, he gets gibbed?

Makes no sense, gameplay or fluff wise.

Eternal Warrior doesn't make any sense. Don't try to assign rationale to a rule that prevents you from dying instantly.

Worse of all, this is actually canon! Farsight can survive horrible injuries... as long as he is protecting someone else with his own body!

I know Dakka has a lot of hate for Eternal Warrior in self-made characters unless you're a Space Marine where it's just wargear anyone can buy.

Here was my rational: You're Paying 100pts for a 66% chance to Survive a Krak Missile or Lascannon wound allocated on a character. On the off chance it gets through, it's only a 2 wound model. Iridium Armor with Stimms accomplish the same thing for less than half the cost. The only real place this will make a difference is with Force and special ID causing weapons.

Also Crisis Units are 3 suits max excluding ICs. So shots from 2/3 directions would completely nullify this rule.

If even that's too much, then I guess I'll talk to my opponent before dropping it.

Finally, a naked human, Yarrick has Eternal Warrior whereas A mech with a soul-sucking sword doesn't, logic has no real place in 40k.

I like the progression, these rules seem acceptable in my opinion.
