I posted this question in the P&M Blarg, but I'm not getting much response, and I think it might be because generally us x-wing folks don't frequent that spot on the forums too much, so I'll try again here. While I do love the star wars universe, I'm not a huge buff on the technology or fluff in general beyond the movies.

Does anybody know of some of the more massive, potentially anti-capital ship turrets, which you would commonly see on a capital ship about the size of a cruiser? Besides turbolasers, I would throw a couple of these on the sides/front of the ship I'm building. Just image searching I either wasn't really able to find anything that was particularly cool looking--or it was hard to figure out the scale/era of it. The heavy turbo laser from the clone wars Venators look perfect, but they're not the correct era. Any advice? Pics would be great. I want something cool looking, but in the end accuracy to the movies/EU is probably more important. I'm looking for something roughly twice the size of the turbolaser I built, maybe a bit larger.

I've got plans for 6 turbolasers to be on the ship, but I wanted something heavier to go on the sides, that looks like it would be going after other capital ships.

Thanks, any help is greatly appreciated, and the more pics the better!

Well, you're kinda stuck with Heavy Turbolasers and Ion Cannons/Heavy Ion Cannons once you get past Turbolaser batteries. Even Star Destroyers just carry a complement of various TLs(including the octuple barbette TLs), HTLs, Ions, and Heavy Ions.

I'd like to start off by saying: holy GREAT GOOGALLY MOOGALLY @ the octuple barbette turbolaser

And also, thanks for the advice

Are heavy turbolasers just larger looking versions of the big square turbolasers? I don't really see a difference between the two from a quick image search. I do see some renders in there, but they seem fan-made, and are pretty hard to tell what scale they are (some renders of the capital ships out there even dwarf super star destroyers) Would using the look of heavy turbolasers off of the clone wars era venator be a big no-no to some people? Ion cannons might do the trick, since they're different looking

Thanks again!
