You can play it using Steam in off-line mode..it will then upload you achievement stats once you go online again on Steam.

I’ve played the base game on my iPad, do the keys work cross-platform? Or steam only? (Not that I’d mind a copy on my PC, but it makes for a nice tablet game)

I got the game yesterday, and it's certainly an improvement over the base one, and actually harder without feeling cheap.

Took me a good hour and 4 tries to beat the first Ultramarine mission. The game has excellent lighting and atmospheric effects, especially for an XCOM style game in tight corridors, the death animations are massively improved, storm bolters are impressively beefy and killy, just Emperor save you should you overheat and be unable to fire.

There are lots of little things adding up to make this a much stronger outing than its predecessor, with a distinct emphasis on your own tactics rather than a D6 roll, from the above to things like the map being hidden until you physically advance or shine a light on things, customizable and improve-able terminators with some varying weapon loadouts and an enemy AI which will do its best to murder you, horribly, which you can observe at all times in the top right of your screen through your poor, doomed terminator's eyes.

Well, I'm not likely to buy it until the price drops since I'm a cheap bastard, so what the heck, I'm in.

Well after the huge disappointment that was JA:FB, I kinda am very hesitant to buy this game (as I am a firm supporter of Indie companies).

Ofcourse, a free key would maybe restore some faith, as the previews are very promising.
