If the report is true this is pure Cpt Picard facepalm stuff.

Yeah, presumably a couple of kids who can read were in line for Spongebob, saw the poster for 50 Shades, and said (or shouted) out loud: "Mommy, you have that book!"

Actually according to the article from someplaces in the Spongebob area glimpses of 50 shades could be seen by the kids.

Take your children to the NRA family day and teach them how to shoot people - good thing
Your children see a naked ass - bad thing
That's like the muslim mothers who cover their kids eyes when they walk past the sex shop in the mall. It's kinda funny, because the kids don't care for sex toys until their mums try to cover their eyes.

I'll never understand America. But, as I don't live there, I don't have to.

And I guess the kids wouldn't notice 50 Shades of Grey because they are too busy watching Songe Bob. Who cares for Christian Grey when he can watch SpongeBob (at the age of 4-12)?

Please correct my english. I won't get any better if you don't.

Sorry, Concord, USA according to the article. We prefer to get out of our cars to see a film; I honestly can't understand why you would prefer a drive-in!

Oh. The article came from a UK based website and it didn't specify a country so I thought it took place in the UK. My bad.

Well, in short, the point of a drive-in movie theater is so that you can get down and dirty with your date in the privacy of your own car.

Spongebob would have been a much better movie to see.

my hometown actually. I know the place, worst place ever. You got bums, homeless, and people who cant speak english selling ceviche out of the back of the truck. And at the theater you clearly see people have sex in the cars.

Americans stay in their cars to watch a movie? Why? You can see it much better when you get out of the car.

I doubt that, I don't think we have a single drive-in cinema in the entire country. Haven't the weather for it.

People take their children to Spongebob to have sex?
I know that can't be true Maybe for 50 Shades of Grey, but not for Spongebob. So why would you watch Spongebob in your car instead of a normal cinema (with much better quality and visibility?)

Well you're not really going to see the movie. Kids are taken because they can bang around and make noise in the car and run around.

Teenagers like it because its like a dark shopping mall. Its just a hang out with minimal supervision.

There are very few of these places left.

It is an American thing. It is like American football, or gun fetish. Only Americans can understand. Or maybe they do it because they like being different.

Or at the age of 12-120 ?
 hotsauceman1 wrote:

You would think that would be more of a problem than the apparently extremely, extremely tame sex scenes from Grey for kids, but apparently since it is not on camera…

We still have drive ins around here. It was the ritual when I was younger to get a group together and park in the same area to watch the shows.
I remember they'd start out with a good movie, then proceed to the lower budget shows as the night progressed.
