Pretty much what the title says; those three games are now on GOG and apparently "compatible with modern PCs" if their tweet is anything to go by: https://twitter.com/GOGcom/status/621666689361551360

Having never played any of these myself, but hearing about them from people who have, I can't deny that I'm rather tempted!

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Hopefully not so buggy as they used to be.

If they're on GoG then they should work on modern PCs. Unlike Steam GoG actually bothers patching and testing their old games, as well its sort of their whole business model.

Hmn, may try and find my copy of that newish Warhammer RTS they brought out years ago. Youknow the one where you can upgrade your leader down certain paths.

Edit: Damn, its been nine years since Mark of Chaos came out. Screw you GW for not releasing a sequel to that. Not to thread jack, but are there any other games like that where you can upgrade characters and units over time?

Hopefully Chaos Gate works properly - I am a bit hesitant to buy until confirmation that it doesn't crash every 5 minutes

Chaos Gate would be my stand out choice there. It still plays well today from a game play perspective, although hopefully GOG will have fixed all the compatibility issues.

Well your entiteled to that opininon, I personally enjoyed that game. As there has yet to be a game that allows me to play in the Warhammer Fantasy world outside the Total War mod witch is decent.

Well, I took the plunge, signed up for GoG and bought Chaos Gate. I get a crash to desktop as soon as I try and start the first mission so not great all in all.

Well, that's encouraging. >_<

LOL I was just coming here to post about this.

I remember years back when I started getting into pc games (I was already years into warhammer at this point) I found a box set of warhammer pc games: Chaos gate, SotHR, Final Liberation and Dark Omen.

I think the only one I actually finished was Final liberation, a so called "friend" of mine stole both dark omen and shadow of the horned rat. I'm not sure if I still have the other 2 or not...

We're gonna need another Timmy!

And of course Dark Omen and Shadow of the Horned Rat.

The reason Mark of Chaos sucked was because it was shallow and basically straight up lied during it's marketing campaign.

There is not this idea.

I will always remember Mark of Chaos for the important lesson it taught me about the dangers of digital only games. I bought it through the old direct2drive site. And when that went down, there went my games, and all the money I had spent on them.

I am tempted by Final Liberation though.
