Hello,

Does anyone here know if Mantic is planning to release any more novels, story collections or adventure books? Is Bloodstone of Cerillion the only available printed Mantic book? They sent us pdfs full of Deadzone fiction, and said they would release the Dungeon Adventure books as paperbacks only to Mantic on that promise and turn them into ebooks, too. But is there anything upcoming that I may have missed? Any plans Ronnie accidentally let slip?

So far, I have Bloodstone of Cerillion in paperback, and while I am enjoying it, it suffers from having been written when the fluff was underdevelopped, giving Mantica a "small" feeling. I would love to see the same author (Jonathan Peace) write a Dungeon Saga/Dwarf King's Quest novel that covers a lot more ground. The new KoW rulebook has a much bigger world with more history to explore. Now would be a great time to flesh out some of the flavor and themes that have blossomed out of the second edition and board games. Dreadball and Deadzone have added layers of possibilities to the futuristic Warpath universe, but there is still a whole lot of blank space to fill. Who else would love to read some fiction set in Mantica or the Manticverse?

Matt Gilbert, any plans to sell the adventure books as POD paperbacks?

There is a DS novel coming. The first Gamebook is written, playtested and the artwork done. The second is mostly mapped out and I'm taking it with me to start writing when I go on holiday next week. Mantic are looking into making them physical prints.

There are KoW novels being planned but I don't know how far along that is.

We've written new background for all the nine new armies in the upcoming supplement book too.

Sweet. Thank you, Matt.

i'm really looking forward to reading more. Who is writing the DS and KOW novels?

PS: How are you going to handle Valandor being a playable character? As the most powerful Mage in Mantica (bar Mhorgoth maybe), his tabletop stats will either be insane or nerfy soft. I don't want to end up with the Newcrons and C'Tan shards all over again...

I've not read the DS stuff on Valandor I'm afraid, so I've no idea how Jake did it.

Greg Smith is (or has) writing the DS novel. He's written most of the background for DS and a lot for DZ and is also considered the lead editor (freelance though).

I've got the name of the person doing the first KoW novel buried in a Skype conversation somewhere. I can't remember who it was.

Is it Jonathan Peace? Or is he no longer writing for Mantic?

Hi Bob

I've had talks with Ronnie about the possibility of revisiting Bloodstone and releasing the original 100K word manuscript (edited to bring it in line with the new direction the background has taken) and then finish off the trilogy of novels I had planned originally back in 2012 when I wrote it.

My original version included Twilight Kin, Abysall Dwarfs, Orcs and Goblins and set up several subplots which would give players of all races something to get their teeth into.

Not sure exactly what will happen but fingers crossed.

Cheers
JP
