Hoping the Dakka community can help here. I am trying to figure out the circumference footprint of the Kharybdis drop pod is. I am converting one up and want to make sure I make it as legal as possible.
Thanks

Seeing as it can transport 20 models, it will have the radius of the standard drop pod times 1.4.
A=π r2
If you multiply any radius by 1.4 the area of the circle will almost double.
Edit: Of course I am just going off of transport capacity and like 4 sentences of lore that don't say much. Please feel free to correct me anyone! Hope I helped!
Edit2: And the 1.4 multiplication of the radius is only for the main part of the drop pod. This doesn't include the claws that attach the pod to ships.

Resin Printer (minaitures) is a 4K printer with one of the largest build volumes available for a resin printer (192mm x 120mm x 245mm) with an amazing .01mm resolution! This professional printer is one of the best resin printers on the market!
FDM Printer (terrain) also has one of the largest build volumes available for an FDM printer (400mm x 400mm x 450mm) and has an amazing ,05mm build accuracy.

yeah....I was hoping maybe someone that owned one could measure it at its widest point (tip of claw to tip of claw). I know I probably cant make the pod that big, but I was going to at least make a base that had the proper footprint.

That is a normal drop pod with bigger claws?
How is that transporting 20 men?

Thats not the KHARYBDIS, thats the dread claw which literally is a drop pod with talons on it.

No that's it, I just checked Forgeworld. Looking at the image, it looks to be about double the footprint. I'd say go with Ryan_A's formula. Automatically Appended Next Post: Alright, Stick with me on this Bro.
Just watched a Youtube video of someone who made sever of these Claws on commission. He has a completed one on a mat with what appears to be a grid of 1 inch squares. Counting from one side to the other the Claw appears to stretch across 10 squares of the grid at its widest point making it 10 inches in Diameter.
Here's the Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=60lWUrP3rkU

That is the Kharybdis. You can easily tell, the five launchers on the sides clearly indicate it is he Kharybdis. I think maybe some of he pictures are mixed up on the forgeworld site?

Thanks again for all the feedback...I think I am going to go with a 10" diameter base
