The Holy Requisitioner formation from Cult Mechanicus is 1 Tech-Priest Dominus and 2-3 units of Kataphron Breachers. They must deep strike in with a reroll to reserves so they most likely come in on turn 2. The Tech Priest does not scatter if placed with 6" of an objective and the Breachers do not scatter if placed within 6" of the Tech Priest.

This seems like a great disruption formation to run with a lot of different army lists and factions. Torsion cannons remove d3 wounds or hull points or the arc rifle is a 2-shot haywire shot. Breachers themselves can usually handle weak backfield objective holders while the rest of the enemy army has to deal with grav kataphrons and /or Imperial Knights.

I just really like the idea of no scatter deep strike with the Breachers and Tech-Priest.

I have tried it. It's a fantastic concept but it cripples your army. Three units less to contribute to canticles, a minimum of 405 points not on the field for a very alpha strike oriented army. Not to mention how bad it can be if you say end up playing necrons with wraiths and the only objective is the relic. Really it falls flat because of the weapons on the breachers. They should have swapped the breachers and destroyers from the other formation with the kastelan robot maniple.

warhammer 40k mmo. If I can drive an ork trukk into the back of a space marine dread and explode in a fireball of epic, I can die happy!

I can see how it might be hard to fit in a traditional Mechanicus army and it is to many points for a War Convocation, but what about as an add on for a different type.

Baronial or Household
Knight Warden
Knight Crusader
Knight Castigator

Holy Req. formation
Tech Priest
3 Breaches with Torsion
3 Breaches with Torsion
3 Breaches with Haywire

The main army is Knights (or I would imagine a typical gun line style list which could use some enemy backfield threats). With this type of firepower already in the list, the Cult forces can play the role of heavy disruption and objective denial.

Keep in mind that even if there are no objectives on the table or only bad ones (like the relic), the Tech Priest can still deep strike where ever and then the Breachers will not deviate within 6" of him. The Breachers have the larger footprint and the biggest threat to mishap.

The question is do they add to the gunline?

Latveria

It's not very good in a stand alone cult/admech army, but it's amazing in a Imperial Knights and as support in general to other armies.

Playing:
Main:
-Chaos Daemons
-Sometimes CSM allies for Daemons
Alts:
-Dark Angels
-Inquisition, nobody expects the imperial
-Officio Assassinorum
-Legion of the Damned
