So, I intend to start a group of corsairs here eventually, but reading through Doom of Mymeara - IMO one lazy, badly edited mess of a book - I find myself lacking a few rules to run this future Corsairs army.
So, could anyone give me a hand with what the rules for the following (and maybe what page of the DE codex they are on):
Chain Snares
Ghostplate Armor
Shadowfield
Thank you for your help

Page numbers I can get later: my codex isn't in front of me. However:
Chain Snares: Allow a non-tank to Tank Shock (but not Ram).
Ghostplate Armor: 4+ Armor save, 6++ invulnerable save
Shadowfield: 2++ invulnerable save. If you suffer an unsaved wound, the shadowfield is destroyed and its save is lost. (*)
(*) - the current FAQ for DE says that if you suffer a wound, but then discount it with FNP, the Shadowfield still shorts out. The Draft FAQ, IIRC, reversed that. Hash that out with your opponent.

Cool, thank you very much Automatically Appended Next Post: I was hoping the ghost plate would be a little better than a 4+ since the models that can take it come stock with a 4+. Oh well.

Nope, you pay for a 6++ invulnerable. It's okay if it's a cheap grab, but think of it mainly for rounding points if you cannot think of anything better.

Fair. I don't have my codex on hand either so idk how many points it is, but I kind of doubt there would not be someplace else I could soak the points. There are a ton of possible upgrades I can take with corsairs. Waaaay more than I am used to. It makes me feel a little bad for the marine players (at least as far as modelling goes).

Why's that?
Corsairs have a lot of options for upgrades, but that's balanced by having somewhat limited unit options. (And being somewhat cost prohibitive if you go with only Forgeworld conversion bits.)

Watching my SO agonize over what gun to put on which marine, and that's BA, who have less options than vanilla. The cost of trying to get exactly what you want out of a product line that only produces boxes of mixed options is a little ridiculous. SO recently built 12 Lascannon dev marines and noted that the bits would have required 12 boxes of dev marines (edit: if SO had not gotten a random bits box with a ton of heavy weapons and had bought them straight from GW instead).
Btw, looked it up, and the 6++ save from ghostplate costs 10 points. Yeah... 5 would have been ok. 10 makes me look at literally everything else first... to which point a freaking Forceshield costs the same 10 points for a 4++. Yep, the ghostplate upgrade is worthless. Ok then. Wtf FW?

Taking the Forceshield negates the possibility of taking a Shimmershield or a Shadowfield, both of which are arguably more useful than the Forceshield.
The Ghostplate gives you 4+ and still lets you get in a vehicle (the other way to get a 4+ for most Corsairs involves changing unit types and not being able to ride anymore).
I don't know that it's worthless, but it's definitely not the option I'd go for.

...all of the models that can take ghostplate armor come stock with heavy mesh armor (4+)... so ghostplate only gives them the 6++.
I never said the Forceshield was better than the Shadowfield - the Shadowfield would be my go-to choice for invulnerable save - but it's 25 points. The exercise was to fill excess points (which I usually assume as 15 or 20 ish), so the thought was if I had 10 point leftover and had not taken an upgrade on a Prince, Void Dreamer, or Baron the forceshield is better since it would give them a 4++ instead of an overlapping/useless 4+ and paltry a 6++.
The only time I can see the ghostplate really coming in handy is against models with special rules that allow them to remove/ignore one of their opponent's saves.
Don't get me wrong, if I could take ghostplate armor on literally any other infantry models in the Corsairs, it would be a viable option, even though the models that come with Regular mesh armor (5+) can also generally buy heavy mesh armor to improve their save to 4+ for 5 points.

The DE models that can take it usually have 5+ stock, so upgrading to 4+/6++ is rather handy. Seems like the writers of coursairs just werent very thourough.

Oh, one thing to add with the Shadowfield - it doesn't immediately short out when you fail a save, but stays up for the rest of the phase.
Lets your Shadowfield character tank 40 bolters in overwatch for the rest of the fragile squad and then keep the save during the assault.
