Hello,

First up: the progress will be shown from here downward in chronological order, enjoy your scroll!

Second: it's FINISHED! ---> SHOWCASE: https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/725794.page#9362690

This machine will be a pre heresy colored death guard themed one. With a 'walker' like double cockpit. And a lot of guns and barrels, a few hidden missiles but mostly certainly exposed.

A first impression is my sketch shown here, let me know your thoughts!

And finally a first real pose right here. Had to adjust the legs quite some times to get them right. Practically only things left to add are the other shoulder piece, leg pieces and some further detailing. Leave a comment so I can improve? Thanks!!

2 months in the built now, and the first paint is on there! Here are a few photo's of the current state it's in.
Decided to start painting the top to take a break from all the greenstuff and sanding.

The theme will be Death Guard, yet a tad neater and less chaos than we're used to.

The top now has his first primairy colors, chipping effects and its first logo's. Yet to finish: shading, a tad highlighting and some more logo's/numbers.

This is looking great. Can't wait to see how this turns out.

Don't know why but I'm getting a Metal Gear Rex vibe from this build...

Had to look it up, that's some nostalgia for me, nice. But yeah it does have some similarities like the shape of the front cockpit and the long barrels. Altho I didn't know this Rex. Awesome reference tho! Most of my inspiration came from the 40k universe (cockpit, color palette) combined with WWII vehicles (heavy weathering, top turret with 2 long barrels) + nowadays aircrafts(roundings & air intakes shoulder pads).

Thanks for the response on my post, I will most certainly keep Dakka updated!

And so when i thought i was finished with the top.... Depth! we need more depth!

Here's the result with a live comparison with the photo I have posted before:

- The hatch looks more bendt;
- The sides are shaded with a gradient;
- All recesses are shaded black;
- More streaking effects in recesses.

And a second; first tryout on the lenses. Needs more detailing but its a start . Any suggestions for further detailing/improvements? Thank you very much in advance!

Moving on to the next step: torso & arms.
All has been smoothed with greenstuff (liquid) and sanding paper. Much fun.

Now let's start painting, I've just finished priming and Base coating (gunmetal). Here's the current status:

A little hold due to upping my experience with the airbrush has led me to painting a wraithknight. Fun stuff to do, soon back to here.

And back here, next step: old rusty steel & Base colors.

Method towards this rust:

Airbrush:
1. dark metallic;
2. Gritty steel coloring (needle not fully closing to achieve "splattering, photo 1 & 2)
3. Repeat with chrome

Sponging:
1. Chipping color (dark brown)
2. Orange rust color (it's gonna look like you mess up but hold on!)
3. Steel color, with extra paint for larger areas.

Check out the last photo for color reference.

Results here, keep you updated! Next up... pin shading and rust streaks/rust buildup

And here we are, almost 5 months in. I've managed to finish all the metal works on the torso, as well as all the white rusty dirty plates around the cockpit and weapons.

The very few last things before starting the legs are the windows for the cockpit and a few fine details as lights, lenses and highlights.

I've used a plastic thick red transparent card for the window on the hatchet. The main windows will be the same as this, I'm pretty satisfied with the realism this gives to the model, check it out!

Heres the collage:

Thanks everyone for viewing and comments!

The final stage has begun. I've added the last details as like tubes and cables (greenstuff) and smoothed everything out. For the Base, I've set up a desert meets civilisation theme, after long thoughts I've chosen to use one of the classic warhammer ruïnes to support the "lifted" leg.

Some rocks, skulls, tubes, foundation and brick rubble was used to decorate and blend it all in. Made with polystyrene, miniature bricks and a few warhammer bitz.

The scratchbuilding skill here is incredible. I think the red-plastic lets the entire thing down a bit, if I'm honest. I also don't like "Space Marine" titans since that fluff-bugs me. I love the overall appearance, minus the two cannons up top --- the carapace section they go into is too short/squat to really mount a recoiling gun of that size, so I think smaller cannons would have looked much better (or even none).

The built and paintwork is top notch and I'm anxious to see the final thing.

Thanks for the response, and the compliments ofc! A honest view I can look at from another perspective. I was gonna paint the barrels today or tomorrow, since they're still in primer it's hard for me to judge. I've tried to make it worthy in construction.

The red glass, I had my doubts between; red blue or clear. Yet clear somehow mostly makes it look really plastic like, off scale..

I've thought of non glass fillings like wirescreens but I think that also due to scale I can't get a proper open-closed ratio. This will obstruct view to the Cockpit.... hard decisions.

I'm definitely prepared to alter the windows, any suggestions or references perhaps?

As a final, what did you mean with the "fuzzy look" on space marine knights?

Again thank you very much the for the reply!!

Final stage of the model its self taking its form. In other words, legs are almost ready! Yet to do: a bit of shading, a tad of spilled fuel and lubricants & verdigris on the copper bolts and nuts. Can't wait to finally put it all together!

For now, some nearly finished legs:

Some last WIP before finishing up the Base with shading and mud or desert texture... still haven't figured that out. Then tidy it up with some plants and stuff.

Thanks for the response! My goal was to make it look more man-wielded than the original imperial/cerastus knight model. Although they have a cockpit it still felt like the machine was some sort of monster if you know what I'm trying to say.
