Game of Battletech Alpha Strike with my wife using hex grid rules with an attack roll for each point of damage - hence the multiple sets of coloured dice (more off table).

5th Crucis Lancers:
Battlemaster
Catapult
Wolverine
Commando
vs
1st Sword of Light
Griffin
Thunderbolt
Shadow Hawk
Locust

My 1st Sword of Light were finally beaten when my Locust was taken out by a badly beaten Wolverine.
At the end, my wife asked if I had any more Locusts she could add to her choice of models. I guess its speed made an impact.

Currently most played: Silent Death, Xenos Rampant, Mars Code Aurora and Battletech.
I tried dabbling with 40k9/10 again and tried AoS3 - Nice models, naff games, but I'm enjoying HH2 and loving Battletech Classic and Alpha Strike.

Last night we had the first test game of Dracula's America, the weird west skirmish game, on a board that came out rather well if I say so myself. Lovely system too.

Game of dreadfleet this afternoon. I got utterly stomped and outplayed by my friend. Was a fun game and was well worth the 30 minutes of bike to get there!

Played my last Encounter of Five Parsecs last week. It was a real challenge for me and not-Attelus, and his crew as it was the first game with limited ranges of 9'' due to what I decided was a sandstorm, but if units opened fire, they were fair game to shoot at within weaponry range.

"The best way to lie is to tell the truth." Attelus Kaltos.
My story! Secret War
After his organisation is hired to hunt down an influential gang leader on the Hive world, Omnartus. Attelus Kaltos is embroiled deeper into the complex world of the Assassin. This is the job which will change him, for better or for worse. Forevermore. Chapter 1.

The Angaran Chronicles: Hamar Noir. After coming back from a dangerous mission which left his friend and partner, the werewolf: Emilia in a coma. Anargrin is sent on another mission: to hunt down a rogue vampire. A rogue vampire with no consistent modus operandi and who is exceedingly good at hiding its tracks. So much so even the veteran Anargrin is forced into desperate speculation. But worst of all: drive him into desperate measures. Measures which drives Anargrin to wonder; does the ends, justify the means?

NIGHT OF THE MURDER CHICKEN

Rethemed a tragic scenario into murder most fowl. The poultry miniature is actually useful in an event card as well, and I'd like to think said chicken got its taste of BLOOD and formed its own tasty cult. Anyway, our two boys encounter the murder chicken (towards the back, near a man-eating plant) the first time, but would fail three times in this difficult scenario!

Enemies, and Wizard and Murder Chicken from Wildspire Miniature's "Monster Set" and "Spellblades and Enchanted Objects" set.

Hey aphyon, when you say for exemple 4th tau versus 3.5 chaos, do you take lists from the codices as is or are their any tweaks you make?

I have a topic or two for this for this

https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/789567.page

The short answer
.all of our games are based on 5th ed core rules. however 3rd-7th ed codexes are cross compatible. you pick the codex you feel best represents your army and build it from that codex we have a few house rules fixes/add ons such as using the 4th ed wound allocation system to avoid shenanigans and we added in grenade throwing, over watch and snap fire from 7th ed because we felt is really improves game experience.

The detailed explanation of rules fixes is here-

Gonna give this a read, I was mostly thinking about point costs compatibility as points costs globally decreased over time and i was wondering whether that could influence the game at disadvantage for the earlier codex. When I do this, I tend to align point costs with newer codices as much as possible.
