Got a Lord Castellant to run Guardians of Alarielle in my Sylvaneth. Is the Gryph Hound good for anything anymore or are they only usable in units of six?

I have the exact same question and hope the Battletome will answer that tomorrow. I'm hoping he gets a rule to get a free one or something. Otherwise you're getting a useless Gryph Hound, sitting there looking adorably boss for nothing

Right, but at least as far as I saw in the GHB’18, they only come in units of six. The Castellant comes with one.

And there is a solution, iirc you get one for free with a castellant.

The first time you deploy the Castellant he can summon the hound. Same within a range, outside of 9'' of enemy units as other summoning things.
So, free hound with a Castellant!
