As SW film falls, SW TV rises. This is fantastic news. And Mandalorian in November, Clone Wars in Feb!

Yup.
As I’ve said before, this does seem a natural home for what would otherwise be spinoff movies.
More time, better stories hopefully. And I’m still hopeful it’ll extend to further Solo stories.

Huh. I was under the impression he wasn't a fan of the role.
I wonder if it was more he wasn't a fan of George and his crap writing.

We'll find out soon enough eh.

I thought his line after the Prequels was pretty much always "I'm done with this for now, call me in 20 or 30 years and we'll talk"?
Anyway, like Alec Guinness, McGregor is a proper professional, so now he's taken the Mouse's shilling I doubt it would be his acting that would be responsible if it turns out to be rubbish.

I think he’s referring to the ‘Soldier’s Shilling’?
Unless that’s the same thing?

No, getting paid is taking a shilling (well, a few million of 'em). Mind you, while the phrase "taking x's shilling is usually used as an insult, I'm not reading Yodhrin's post like that.

It was literally a play on "the King's Shilling". It was meant as a compliment - if he takes the money, he'll do the job well regardless of his personal feelings.

Awesome. I always thought SW worked better on the small screen as it allows more time for character and plot development. Hopefully Maul shows up again in this series, would be a shame to neglect him given his appearances in TCW, Rebels, and Solo.
Given the trailer for the Mandalorian and the $10 million budget per episode it is pretty clear that these shows are going to look great!

See, I'm of the opposite opinion. He was a throwaway character that died on his first appearance, and was brought back and beaten like a dead horse over and over again. He's even worse than Boba Fett for being overused garbage that isn't actually important.

I'm with Voss on this one but I'll go for a live action flashback to the fight from Rebels, which was pure genius and skipped all that clash of sabers bobbins for minutes on end in favour of samurai style slicy slice in seconds

It was a spectacular fight for its sheer simplicity. And that there was some kind of peace found, with Kenobi and Maul shown as relics of another age? Just wonderful stuff.

Forgive the necro but it's pertinent new information that doesn't really warrant a new thread.
Hayden Christensen has been confirmed to reprise his role of Anakin Skywalker in a "substantial" way.

I expect lots of fist shaking. Rabble rabble.
Personally this seems neither good nor bad. I just don't care about these actors anymore. But I hope they'd set the story someplace where having Annie running around actually makes sense.
Maybe flashbacks or just set it in the stories they told in the elevator in Attack of the Clones. Those sounded far more interesting than the actual film.

And huzzah, a random article about star wars hits my personal pet peeve.
Cast is the past tense of cast. 'Casted' is not anything.
Unfortunately reading a lot of fantasy means running into it a lot as standards slip.

All indications so far were that the series would be set between Episodes 3 and 4, so Anakin's involvement would pretty much have to be as a flashback. Unless they're getting Vader in there somewhere with his mask off.

It's only 6 episodes apparently, so I'm plumping for a Family Guy structure of something occurs to prompt the telling of stories, until enough time has passed for the maguffin to resolve.
That would also allow for an anthology style show, rather than telling one overarching narrative.
"Well the rescuers still haven't dug through the cave in.... Did I ever tell you about the time on Dantooine when.."
