This Kickstarter appeals to me as I play many games in Robert E Howard's Hyborian Age setting.

Check it out! All in pledge for $59 USD.

The designer assured me in the comments that it had been designed with playing in mind with areas accessible by minis on 25mm bases, etc.

I have a few of Iain's sets and they're all great. Quick turn around after the KS funds have been released too.

Love, love, LOVE this! Perfect "home turf" terrain for certain war cry warbands, imo. (For those who are GW centric in outlook)

I really dig "Persian" style architecture, but man there is too much coming out in the next couple months begging for my little hobby dollars...

Going to set the reminder for this and see where I am at in 20 days.

I specifically like the Llamassu statues. I'd been looking at buying expensive bookends or sculpting my own.
The ancient Persian/Babylonian style city is definitely an area of terrain that isn't well served, with most terrain going with the medieval/renaissance English village look.

Yeah, I actually check on Thingiverse from time to time, only to be disappointed every time. It kind of started when, a long, long time ago, I had an idea for "Persian" inspired Necron terrain. I never did get around to it, but it is something I still think of from time to time.

The good news is that this is only 59 bucks, so not breaking the bank. The bad new is that I don't even own a 3D printer. But my brother-in-law does and I've got an idea for maybe springing for one in the next year or so.

Someday I’ll get a 3D printer (my library has none), and the Lammasu statues will be some of the very first things I buy to print.

I think a 3d printer is on many Wargames hobbyist "someday!" lists. It completely changes the game for terrain.

I think there are some sales going that brings the Ender 3 down to the 200-300 USD range. Which actually makes it competitive to having to pay GW prices for multiple terrain sets...

The Ender3 is normally $250.

We have one at work and it sucks. I hate it and wish I never bought it. Creality's build method where they outsource the same part to so many different vendors means that if someone buys a printer a week after I bought one you'd basically be getting a different machine so I believe the people that have one and like them but you really never know what you're going to get when you order one. I think if I flash the firmware to get pure marlin instead of the gimped one they ship with I will like the machine better as it has extrusion flow issues and I can't compensate for it easily in Cure and need to do a recalculation via the firmware.

We'll find out soon enough eh.

That's a pretty hilarious overstatement of things. It's a sub-300 dollar printer and so yeah, quality control can be variable, but having spent the last year or so lurking about in a couple of 3DP communities and the Ender 3 FB groups, it's pretty evident that 90% of the issues people are having are PEBKAC. I've been having flashbacks to my tech support days.

That's not to say yours are PEBKAC, but don't use your own experience to try and paint it as rolling a dice when you buy one, the vast majority of issues I see are people not assembling it properly, not calibrating it properly, or not understanding how the slicer settings work.

Have you properly calibrated the extruder? I had to set my Flow to 95% in Cura after I actually ran the test to see how much material was being put through vs how much the machine thought was being put through. Also, go onto Thingiverse and print yourself a replacement adjustable tensioning arm for the extruder(you'll need a nut & bolt to put it together, if you're having issues with extrusion then print the first one solid and you can choose to replace it with a lighter infil one later if you like), that fixed the spotty extrusion issues I had in the first month. Flashing a bootloader and updated Marlin is something that should be done anyway so you can enable Thermal Runaway Protection - it's probably not necessary, but there are non-zero-chance scenarios where it's better to have it enabled.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal

Thanks for the support but I kind of know what I'm doing but maybe it would be helpful for someone else that stumbles on this thread some time from now. As I stated in my post above I'm pretty sure I know what the problem is, esteps, but I cannot change that on the version of Marlin my work's ender shipped with as they stripped out all the setting configs as well as most of the functionality. The only thing it allows you to do is start, pause and stop a print and preheat the nozzle to load filament.

I agree, I don't own a printer myself, but one of.my inner circle.does and it took some considerable time before settings were right, and indeed, it pays off to recalibrate and check settings frequently. Particularly if you happen to live in earth quake or tremor prone regions.

Last 44 hours for the campaign now. I went ahead and backed it. $59 dollars just seems like a deal for some pretty unique stuff, despite the fact that I don't have a 3D printer. One day I will, haha.

3 hours left, the project is pretty close to the $18k level for the bridges unlock.

Just want to give people a last minute heads up in case they want to get in.
