Hi all

For Christmas I was given a very nice set of Winsor and Newton series 7 brushes. I would obviously like to keep these in good nick. Is brush soap worth investing in? I've never used it before, and the consensus I'e seen seems "mixed". I'm loathe to use my new brushes without first finding the best way of caring for them. Has anyone here used it? is it worth getting?

Yes & Yes. I use Masters Brush Soap and it is absolutely essential, IMO, for properly cleaning and prolonging longevity of your brush.

Seconding Master's. Look up videos on how to use that solid soap.

I use a brand called Da Vinci, a big round puck that comes in a tin and smells very strongly of lemon drops. It's worked decently well for me, but some brushes are just too far gone for it to revitalize. I paid no more than a couple of euros for the 85 gram bar, and at my current pace, expect it will last me at least a decade.
