The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Well, will it better or worse than the previous attempt at the story?

I reject absolutely revenge, aggression, and retaliation. The foundation of such a method... is love. I love you Sheriff Truman." - Twin Peaks

This is in theaters tomorrow, for those not in the know!
Might be the first movie I see in a theater since I took my nephews to see the second "Daddy Day Camp" in 2007. Just gotta confirm some viewing times with a lady pal.

Worth noting that the UK release has been delayed indefinitely, it was meant to come out on the 6th August but has been pulled due to rising Covid levels. Sadly there's no word yet on any streaming release or a rescheduling of the cinema release.

NGL this is a somewhat demanding movie. Little to nothing is spelled out. Strange things happen. The audience is expected to think about what we’re watching; not just while it’s on the screen in front of us, but also afterwards. I think multiple viewings would be rewarding.
The film has been marketed in a way that makes it look like an artsy horror film in line with other A24 pictures. While it tackles uncanny and frightening situations (remember, this is ultimately about a person walking into what is very likely his doom!), it is really a story about the traditional chivalric values of bravery, virtue, and honor.
If you really love the question of what makes a knight a knight, just go see it ASAP!

This thursday it should be available on all VOD, with some weird screening the night before.
Via Bloody Disgusting:
As we told you last week, A24 and David Lowery‘s (A Ghost Story) The Green Knight (read Meagan’s 5-star review) is coming to the virtual A24 Screening Room for one-knight-only this Wednesday, August 18 at 9pm, but oddly enough, we’ve learned today that the film will also be coming to all traditional at-home streaming platforms… the very next day?
“This Thursday, August 19th, David Lowery’s acclaimed Arthurian epic will be available everywhere you rent movies,” A24 announced in a press release sent out this afternoon.
Tickets for the A24 Screening Room screening are $20 each, with no word yet on how much the movie will cost to rent on the following day. An odd release plan, to say the least.

I saw it. I think it's pretty great. It's dark int he way that A24 makes things dark. But it's straight up the Arthurian legend. A really good pretty faithful adaptation of the story of the best of Arthur's knights.
These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.
Would be cool if this heralded an Arthurian "cinematic universe". For me at least. Loved that stuff growing up.

Well, it was pretty weird. Some of the imagery will stick with me for a while, certainly.

Saw it. granted, I last read the tale about 20 years ago, but it seemed to follow the main story line pretty well. I have heard some reviews indicating that the movie is hard to follow, and things on screen are not always explained. I did not have any problems on that score? Curious.
The movie was beautifully shot, the framing and composition was great, the pacing was slow, and sometimes it veered into camp.
The group had a good time watching it BUT I can see how many people would find this thing a slog.
