Now available in PDF edition from Wargame Vault

The first major supplement for Horizon Wars: Zero Dark, Zero Dark: Operation Nemesis tells the story of Bal Anub, a special forces unit from Venus, sent to assist the rescue mission of an Earth devastated by an asteroid impact. Pressed against their will into the service of a shadow government to pursue the mystery of the Fallen Earth, they travel from Africa to Europe and back, learning more than their masters would prefer.

You can play Operation Nemesis in any setting, with heroes of your own invention, using the rules from Horizon Wars: Zero Dark to upgrade your heroes with new skills, equipment and allies as they go.

Zero Dark: Operation Nemesis includes 12 new solo or co-op missions that can be played as one-off games, in three acts of four missions each or in a single, 12-mission arc.

For those who prefer to play PvP, it also includes 6 brand new Versus missions to challenge your friends.

The book includes new rules for your games, including motorcycles, X Mechs for your heroes and the titular Nemesis. But if you don't want the mission pack and are only interested in the new rules, you can get them on their own from Wargame Vault on a Pay What You Want basis.

And, if you're completely new to Horizon Wars: Zero Dark, there's a bundle with the main rules, Operation Nemesis and the FAQ available at a generous discount on buying both books separately.

If you don't know me, I'm Robey, a.k.a. Precinct Omega. As you can see from my profile, I've been a Dakkanaut for a long time and, although I'm not that frequent here these days being a bit busy trying to run my own independent publishing company, I still feel like Horizon Wars in all its manifestations has been at least partly gestated through the enthusiasm, support and community of this forum. So if you've got this far and you're interested in buying Zero Dark or any other Precinct Omega products on Wargame Vault, send me a DM and I'll send you a discount voucher for $3 off whatever product catches your eye (not the bundle - that's already well discounted!).

So what you’re saying is this would be a great game to solo-play with one’s unused Medge or Antares minis during the pandemic? Or coop play with family?

How complicated are the rules compared to Horizon Wars? My son and his cousins love that game, so I’m looking for something similar to use with 28mm robots and aliens...besides Shadows of Brimstone, which has a lot of set up time and resources to track.

Well, if you'd like to take it for a test drive, you can also download Zero Dark: Training Run - another Pay What You Want product that contains all the basic rules, some pre-written heroes and a starter mission.

It's a skirmish game so, naturally, it's going to be a bit more complex than a battle game. But if you're already familiar with the shooting mechanics from Horizon Wars, you should pick it up in no time.

A little bump. As England joins our Welsh and Scottish siblings in lockdown, I thought it was the right time to offer locked-down wargamers another chance to get Zero Dark with a 10% discount. And I've added a 10% discount on Operation Nemesis, too.

If you've not bought either, though, and want both, the bundle edition is still about 12.5% discount on the pair. No change there.
