Subject: Footsore Miniatures News & Rumours - Baron's War Fantasy Kickstarter
Barons' War 3 - Commencing on Sunday 21st March, 2021
The Barons' War 3 - Death and Taxes campaign will again be a quick one, running for just two weeks from March the 21st to April the 4th, 2021. With most of the figures and all of the terrain already sculpted, we expect a well-managed turnaround for fulfilment for our third crowdfunding campaign. The figures will be cast, packed and shipped for us by Footsore Miniatures & Games, so you'll receive their usual excellent quality and great service.
The range of figures we are aiming to fund focuses on the key antagonists from our campaign story with rules for using them in The Barons' War game included inside the Death and Taxes digital campaign booklet. These initial new packs will add Armoured Foot Sergeants, a Mounted Knight/Sergeant Musician, a Mounted Priest, Merry Men for Robin's band, Villagers and Commanders to The Barons' War range.
Just 6 of the initial 10 packs that will be available when the Kickstarter launches
The village where "Death and Taxes" is set plays a big part in this funding campaign and will be offered both physically as printed resin and digitally as STL files for those who have a 3D printer. We have organised ourselves to be in a position where we can print the items for you offering physical products where a 3D printer isn't readily available.
Digital renders of some of the terrain
Being an English village of the period, we believe, we have created a really useful terrain set which can be used for many different battles during The Barons' War.
A shot of the Village of Wimentun physically altogether for the first time
We have also prepared a number of fabulous stretch goals, it wouldn't be a Kickstarter without them, focusing on further packs of Antagonists from the setting - we will be revealing more with another update during the run-up to launch.
The Falconer is Ben Checota of Badger Games' backer miniature from BW2 which we have been allowed to include during the campaign
Once again we are including the King John pledge level, this time it will be limited to four. We have included this opportunity as a result of so many requesting to have your own figure sculpted by Paul.
The "Death and Taxes" PDF campaign booklet
For now all that is left for me to say is please share with your friends and gaming buddies that The Barons' War 3 Kickstarter is going live on Sunday 21st March 2021 and it will include a FREE Death and Taxes PDF campaign booklet for everyone who backs us.
EU SHIPPING
To make it as simple as possible for our EU supporters we will be shipping all EU pledges via DDP, Delivered Duty Paid, which means not only will we arrange shipping we will also cover the handling charges and pay all taxes so you don't have to.Like11 people like this update

Subject: Footsore Miniatures News & Rumours - Barons War 3 Kickstarter - 21st March - Mediæval villagers!
After receiving Barons' War 2, I knew that I would go for this because I'm having a lot of fun painting them. But the villagers make this even more of a must-have.

Where are you getting the extra images from, please, @zedmeister?!
They've got a Facebook page with a ton of concept images:
-Elkapoa, The Snatcher- “An innocent enough rhyme, but let me tell you of “Elkapoa”, “The Snatcher”. She is a dread creature with many limbs like some remarkable insect. She glides silently through the glades, floating as if suspended above the forest floor. She wields a razor-sharp sabre in one taloned claw and her besom in another.
Her other hands are free to make lightning-fast genuflections to call down the eldritch power. Wheresoever she points balefire flickers from her fingertips and arcs towards her prey. Balefire melts the very flesh from the faces of men and draws their souls screaming from their bodies as they fall to the ground. But that is not the worst of it. Oh no.
Beneath her robe is a skirt of mewling ghastly tortured faces. Some are the very faces of those she has just slain. They are the faces of men damned to Hell. You see Elkapoa collects souls as children collect carved wooden toys. She feeds upon souls. They give her power. They give her strength. She is believed to have her lair deep within the Corpseshroud thicket from whence she will ambush the unwary and “snatch” them away. And never underestimate her skill at swordplay. She loves to challenge the foolhardy to a duel. To my knowledge, none have bested her.
Korus as well
-Korus, The Choir- “Such a pretty one, such beautiful eyes, like dark pools in the moonlight. We wantssss her, we neeedsss her.” A cacophony of shrill mournful voices, like discordant fiddles, came from the silhouette. Agata could not speak. She looked up as the stove flared and illuminated the looming figure. It was the Ved’ma. Korus, Come for her head. The severed heads of young maidens glared longingly down upon Agata from a basket-like contraption that was balanced precariously atop the apparitions’ shoulders. Agata dropped to her knees in terror. Her bladder emptied upon the rushes. “Come sister, join us “ shrieked the heads in unison. A black blade swooshed down severing Agata’s head at the neck. There was no blood. The blade had cauterised the wound with a searing cold. A long taloned hand snatched Agatas’ hair before her head even hit the floor swinging it up and into the basket. Crimson tendrils snaked upwards from the Ved'ma’s neck stump, binding Agata's head alongside her “sisters”. Her eyes blinked open. She could see as clear as day. A jaunty tune came unbidden into her head and her lips parted to sing in chorus. “ One, Two, Three, Korus sees “ The heads giggled and laughed. But the sound was not pleasant.

I love the art John Wigley has produced for this. All hand drawn and painted with water colours. It's fething glorious. I'd be sorely tempted to get the rulebook just for all his art.
Bit of a shame that it's only the Ved'ma at the moment. I was hoping the militia/monsters would be on offer too. But maybe they'll come in as stretch goals.
