A thread to share what terrain you'll be using for Stargrave. Please add yours!

Originally I was planning on buying MDF sets, but I really do not want to assemble and paint them. So I was pleased to find Battlesystems. They make a variety of preprinted cardboard terrain which assembles with plastic clips. I purchased the Cyberpunk core set which also comes with a 2' x 2' neoprene mat. It's a good mat: I just wish they sold 3' x 3' mats, but I'll just have to order from somewhere else.

The first picture shows nearly everything that came in the box. Only the clip-on signs were left out. A number of wall sections have hatches or doors. They can be punched out, but I'm leaving them as is for now.

This is my attempt at a simple layout with the addition of the Medical Bay expansion. The Medical Bay expansion does not add walls or clips. I'm thinking a Frontier core set is probably in order, as it is larger than the Cyberpunk core set and adds a 3d element with floor tiles. The Arrival Bay expansion will work better with the added height as the airlock doors for the shuttle is large. [Until I play a game, even solo, the Arrival Bay expansion and the Detention Cells will remain unpunched.]

Half of the included scatter terrain. The crates can be built so they can be opened and shut, as shown in the 2nd photo. Most of the scatter stays assembled without glue, but the tables (among a few others) need glue.

If I get to play, I'll be using my generic sci fi terrain for the game:

I'm planning to add some ruined concrete buildings and small intact buildings to this to fully flesh it out. I'll also be doing "jungle" style outposts with rocky crags and so on.

Necromunda scenery for me.

And whatever Random scatter terrain that looks interesting from kickstarters or Thingiverse

I have a whole library of alien plants I need to fiddle with for jungle terrain.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Probably my usual mix of terrain for other games such as my Jungle terrain....

You know, if you'd like your own, Insaniak has "how to's" on the Maelstrom's Edge website.

BTW, Insaniak, while you have a number of interesting projects posted there, the one I like best is the greenhouse, and the one that I have actually gathered the parts for is the observatory.

The observatory is one of my own favourites, along with the landing pad.

The greenhouse was fun, but is a sod to photograph!

Some great terrain here. I love the (I'm assuming) hot glue and red orb plants, really cool looking! Also note some classic "cocktail sticks in a ball" cacti and some stuff that looks like it's straight out of a Dan Abnett description of flora on a 40K world.

Please pardon the necromancy, but I think it's better to place the photo here instead of starting a new thread. Recently, I bought the game Core Space. The terrain that comes in the core set is the Cyberpunk Starter set I mentioned in my original post. So now I have two. Having it already assembled let me play the game that much sooner. So this is what a 2' x 2' layout looks like when set up. The designers are being mean and made the layout with lots of fire lanes so the killer cyborgs can easily get LoS to your characters. That's why it's so open. The previous mission you had to go from A to B, extract some one, then get back to A where your ship is. That one they made you wind around the whole damn map.

That does look really cool, like seeing all the terrain as well

I made a modular spaceship which has only been used for stargrave so far, it could do with a couple of bigger rooms but it worked pretty good:

@Hereticdave
That's nifty! Also practical and useful.
