So, Yakface has said that the glossary is going to be updated and I am pretty sure that we are lacking loads of AoS terms in it. Any that you can think of please post below so that I can foramt it and send it to him and we can be upto date. (If you are not sure what this means it is the tooltip that comes up when you hover a piece of yellow text.)
To start;
IDK - Idoneth Deep Kin.
KO - Kharadron Overlords.
STD - Slaves to Darkness.

Hey guys, Please make sure to give me all this info for each entry:
1) The abbreviation itself.
2) The description of what that abbreviation means.
3) The full current faction name that the item belongs to (if it is faction specific). Please don't assume I know the AoS faction names (cause I don't).
4) The name of the game that item is part of (in this case, everything is for AoS, so you don't need to bother mentioning that).
5) For you to use the Dakka Search (found in 'forum tools) to check and verify that the abbreviation is being commonly used by someone besides yourself.
Please don't skip step #5, as every entry we make to the Dakka glossary adds a bit to our database load. So we only want to bother including abbreviations that are actually getting regularly used.
Thanks!

This seems to be a bit more of a rework of the rules than usual for a new edition, so there will be new abbreviations that won't show up in a search. I've tried to stick to the one's which seem most likely to be used as abbreviations. Of those I feel that DBC, BA and AA are the least likely to be used and can be left out for the time being.

That's totally understandable, so we won't hold these initial AoS abbreviations to the same standard of needing to have been used multiple times.
But can someone please at least go over the suggestions that have already been listed above and explain to me like I'm an idiot which ones are faction names and which ones are something else (and if they're something else, whether or not they apply to a specific faction or they're just a general game term)?
Thanks!

Rumored to be a replacement/supplement for the Cities of Sigmar battletome or a campaign series for Age of Sigmar similar to the War Zone books for 40K: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2021/06/09/fancy-a-new-life-bringing-order-to-the-mortal-realms-join-a-dawnbringer-crusade-today/ Also the rumored name of the new AoS terrain https://war-of-sigmar.herokuapp.com/bloggings/5567 The Realmscape Objective Set is specifically noted to "Represent a settlement of the Dawnbringer Crusades in various states of disrepair".

Here's the list of glossary terms that are noted as being for ' WHFB'. Can someone let me know which of these should be ported over to being for AoS and which are dead terms that should be deleted? I know it's a ton of them, but any help would be appreciated! Note that some of these might be long outdated terms for 40K too (or other games), and if you see any of those, let me know as well.

ASF - Probably needs to be ported to 40k, it's a term I hear people using for strikes-first mechanics.
ASL - Same
BFSP - Dead, probably won't be missed.
BS - Gone from Sigmar, but 40k's still using it.
BSB - Gone from Sigmar, you might keep it in reference to 9th Age.
BT - Meaning retained in Sigmar
CMD - Meaning gone from Sigmar. Not quite a dead term, it's still the Warmachine command stat.
CR - Meaning gone from Sigmar, but as 'combat resolution' still relevant in 30k and some historicals.
CSD - Meaning retained in 40k, but it's not a standalone army in Sigmar.
DD - As "dispel dice" relevant to 9th Age, not to Sigmar.
DI - I don't think it's still called "instability" in Sigmar.
DoC - Same as CSD, still used in 40k but it's not an army book in Sigmar.
DP - Meaning retained in Sigmar.
FB - As "fantasy battles" dead and can go.
FC - WHFB meaning is gone.
FTC - Meaning gone in Sigmar.
GD - Still there in Sigmar.
GUO - Still there in Sigmar.
GW - Still around, and probably will remain so long after we're all dead.
HE - Probably dead. Old fogeys like me will stick to calling things that but there's no straight parallel the way there is for, say, Eldar/Aeldari.
HEs - Same
IB - As "instinctive behavior" it's gone from 40k, gone from Sigmar, and still around in BFG.
IC - Could go from Sigmar and from 40k, there's no longer a distinction between characters and independent characters.
InG - Dead term, can probably go.
INT - Current definition is dead, but this is still the stock abbreviation for "Intelligence" in most RPG systems, if you wanted to add that.
ITP - Dead.
JSOD - Dead.
KoS - Still there.
KotR - Still a unit in Sigmar, but probably doesn't need its own glossary entry.
LA - Dead.
LD - Still there.
LoS - General to all wargames, really.
MC - No longer a rules-specific term in 40k or Fantasy, I think it's still colloquially in use, though. Does still mean "monstrous creature" in 30k.
MoCU - Dead.
MoK - May be dead. In modern 40k/Sigmar this is "the Khorne keyword", I don't know if "Mark of..." remains in use.
MoN - Same
MoS - Same
MoT - Same
Muso - I don't know if we need a general term, given that they now have different functions in different units?
NG - Classic term for "Gloomspite Gits", may remain in use amongst old fogeys (Eldar/Aeldari divide again).
NIKE - Dead.
OKs - Classic term for "Ogor Mawtribes", same old/new army name divide.
PD - Used for 30k and 9th Age, not for Sigmar.
RBT - Still a unit in Sigmar, probably doesn't need its own glossary entry.
RNF - Could be a generic term for the un-upgraded members of a unit in any system.
SB - Same as "musician", still used for 9th Age but Sigmar doesn't need a generic one.
SH - Unit still exists and is still called that, probably doesn't need its own glossary entry, though.
STD - Probably doesn't need its own glossary entry.
STR - Gone in Sigmar, still exists in 40k, Warmachine, and is a stock RPG abbreviation.
Sv - Still exists in Sigmar.
SW - Unit still exists, probably doesn't need its own glossary entry.
TK - GW publishes datasheets for them, so...maybe?
TWF - Definitely dead.
US1 - Dead.
US2 - Dead.
US3 - Dead.
US4 - Dead.
VC - Classic term for "Soulblight Gravelords", old/new army names thing.
WE - Classic name for "Wanderers" (mixed with some Sylvaneth), old/new army names thing.
WEs - Same.
WF - Dead, and dead before my time.
WHF - Name for the game. Not there in Sigmar, could still be relevant for discussion?
WHFB - Same
WHQ - Still relevant, brand name's been revised for both Sigmar/40k boxed products.
WoC - Classic name for "Slaves to Darkness". Chaos Warriors are still a unit name and a few units retain the "Chaos Warriors" keyword, but I don't think it's written down as "Warriors of Chaos" anywhere in Sigmar.
WS - Gone in Sigmar, still relevant for 40k.

Still in use in the Slaves to Darkness battletome, such as this example from the Chaos Warriors warscroll: MARK OF CHAOS: When you select this unit to be part of your army, you must give it one of the following Mark of Chaos keywords: KHORNE, TZEENTCH, NURGLE, SLAANESH or UNDIVIDED.
