I enjoyed the final season, but the Alpha Centauri colony was a huge let down for me. This solar punk city of the future turns out to be just a suburb in space. Everyone's using these rovers moon rovers to drive on roads to their own private, single family, luxury homes. Elon Musk must have designed it.
I realize it wasn't an important aspect of the show, but it still bugs me.
But I did enjoy some of the ideas the story had about AI. Maybe an AI revolution might not be the monolithic movement we think it might be. And then the conflict there might be with the existential void of pure freedom. At least, that's I think the message was...
Or maybe it's that the lack of pressure to conform encourages productive change? That would fit better with the human characters better.
