This will really be digging into some old memories and recollections but hopefully someone will be able to help!
Many years ago I remember there being a scenario in WD which featured Shelob, the big-arse spider, chasing some Orcs down through her lair while they were trying to escape.
I believe the WD had both the rules for the scenario and then a battle report using them and was very entertaining.
Can anyone remember which magazine it was featured in or any other way to find the scenario?
At a very rough guess I think it may have been from around the mid 00's or later - but I might be completely mistaken around that.

Very grateful if anyone does have an exceedingly good memory!

Scenario was called:She Hunts: Shelob vs. Orcs

Can't remember what WD it was in, but it was in the best of white dwarf: The Return of the King edition (2004). I have that, so i'll check if it's correct when i'm at home.

Definitely the She hunts! scenario you want. Doesn't mention what WD it came from originally unfortunately, but it does have the scenario but no battle report.

I checked my collection of 40 odd old WD's, I couldn't find it either unfortunately. Although I'd also be interested in getting it as it sounds like fun.

There's the 'She hunts' scenario in WD294, but that's a pretty basic one.
The one with the really cool board and report is the article 'Tunnels of Terror' in (UK) WD308. (It's got a pic of Wood elves on the cover.)

I did used to have that WD with the Wood Elves on the cover, so that would explain where I first read about it. Now to try and track down a copy..

Any chance of some images of the front covers for both issues? I've got #308 (AUS) which I thought was the same as the UK run. But my 308 has a converted word bearers army on the front and not woodelves (although wood elves do feature heavily in the issue)

According to Lexicanum, Aus WD numbering is the same as UK (so 308 should be this one - sorry this was the largest image I could find!)
At least I bloody hope it is right as I have ordered a copy



WD306 and 307 have Tyranids on the cover, 309 and 310 have Lord of the Rings - so not sure which mag you have, I wonder if it was an Aus-only or some sort of special/subscription issue? (Did they used to do that back then?)
