Mods: If this is the wrong forum, please let me know and feel free to move it to the right place.

So I bought a set of Space Marine bikes from E-Bay and a few things that I noticed that was off.

1: it was sent to me in a Dakka Jet box. They could not even find a Amazon box to reuse.

2: The plastic is blue. Like Royal Blue.

3: It was in a sealed wrapper that is in German, but the address looks legit.

I have to ask has anyone ever seen GW make their models in any color of Plastic other than some kind of gray? It looks legit to me, but still a little weird.

Yes, they've used a few different colours in recent years, for various releases. The blue is quite common.

I think the short-lived Battle for Vedros stuff was molded in blue, and the bike was one of the kits that was part of that.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

The Grotsnik Corp Bump Feelerer 9,000. It only looks like several bricks crudely gaffer taped to a cricket bat.

You also see some stuff such as the warhammer underworlds crews that all come in a unique colour. The easy to build stuff also came in coloured plastics if i recall.

Versteckt in den Schatten deines Geistes.

That 100% sounds like Vedros stock. The Orks from that were in green plastic, IIRC.

The bikes from the Hachette partworks were cast in blue.

Yeah, ebay is flooded with the Hatchette models, in contrast the Vedross (sp?) stuff is relatively rare here in the UK.

OP, I'm not sure why it mattered that the seller sent you the sprues in the box of another kit? I mean, not everyone has spare Amazon boxes lying around? Presumably they listed the sprues as they were (not in their original box)?

On the other hand, if they sent the box without any brown paper or other sort of covering that would be very amateurish.

No brown paper, no covering, no padding inside. Just slapped a label on the box and taped it up. Stock pictures from GW as the only picture in the listing. Honestly, I thought that he sent me the wrong box until I opened it.

To everyone in general. Thanks guys! I did not know what to think when I open it up. My first thought was that this was a good counterfeit.

Wow, that's a very poor seller. Stock images should only be used when an item is new/boxed, IMHO.

I'd hate it if someone sent me some Warhams in the post without making any attempt to hide what it is. I don't want the postie to know just how much of a geek I am

From what I remember, the Vedros stuff was Blue, as was the Ultramarines half of the 8th Ed starter box. 8th Ed Deathguard starter set were green. I've seen old school Blood Angels and Khorne Berserkers in red. Green orks. Some of the GW board games that used 40k marines have used the entire color spectrum. I have old school genestealers that are purple. Some of the Age of Sigmar stormcast were gold. GW skeletons from years past were off-white (excellent for quick assembly and a dip in quick shade)

During the time GW had this interesting cooperation with Revell, these kits (older SM stuff like Land Speeders, Ork Bikes, Buggies, Trakks, etc) were moulded in different colours as well.

It was an old school SM bike set. Thanks, and good to see you around Sigur. I remember seeing you on the old Warseer boards.

yeah, not to pleased about that. I have aged out of being embarrassed by the post office, as I am sure that toy soldiers are on the low end of the "weird stuff" that they see.

Cheers! I'd be on there too, if somehow they replied to my requests for "lost password". Yus, I've been here on Dakka for a good while now, but mostly stick to a few threads. But it's always good to see Warseerers even though seeing Warseer got very hard to do...
