Yeah, I've made them all taller.
As far as the colours go, they were supposed to be like army-green and dark rust orange. I think they look more like that in real life but the photos make them look a bit redder than they are.

I have made them all taller, but I think it's just the camera angle playing tricks. I can see what you mean in those photos, but they don't look disproportionate in real life.
I think especially in the second photo, the dude to the right looks very warped by the camera.

No, they're artist's oil paints.

So they were wet for several days!
As a bonus, the paint dries really strong - it's hard to chip it or anything once it's set. I guess that's part of the reason those painting by the old masters are still around today.
