Based on the pictures I would say that it's the full kit however it does go against what they usually do for these kind of games, which is push-fit.

Given the number of odd decisions (the single karskrin and the ogryn, also multipart) it maybe - maybe - could be that the box has new push fit plastics of all the minis, but for whatever reason (didn't get them ready on time, given the time between them announcing the game and it's release?) they had to reuse available pictures. It would be a first barring the odd miniature that gets changed on release, but for me it would be more plausible than a recut and retool of a single karskrin.

Sabotage! wrote:I saw on Auspex Tactics this is supposed to be 110 USD. If that turns out to be turn I don’t think you will see much of anyone buying it.

I thought we would already have official prices. Anyway that would be a lot compared to other games like Space Marine and the Warhammer Quest Lost Treasures, if it was GW, maybe they would be that dense, but if they are going to release it on Target etc it's probably going to be a lot cheaper. We hope.

I wasn't paying a lot of attention to the video, but weren't the 110 USD the cost buying the stuff individually? (I think I saw the blooded KT for like 49 USD)

No, Auspex was pretty clear that was the price of the boxed set. He went on to add up the prices of everything in it, which does end up being somewhere around that mark, but was pretty befuddled as to why they would charge that much for it.

I’m hoping it’s maybe a mistake that Auspex got a hold of? As normally these boxed games are fairly reasonably priced. Then again we got Crypt or Blood which had less minis and cost around that much. It just seems insane to target this box at people trying to get into the hobby at that price.

Not saying Auspex Tactics is ever wrong about anything, but when your intel comes back that screwy you really want to double check. At $110 not only will no one ever buy it, but even gaming stores will have to be daft to order a copy for their shelves. Definitely a no go for Barnes and Noble or any standard retailers.

It's 85€. Without new or especially awesome models and probably not an outstanding rules set. It's not even a good deal for Death Guard players. Or... anyone.

€85, haha, GW are so out of touch with the boardgame market.

Makes me a bit worried what they'd think would be an acceptable price for a new edition of Space Hulk.

The objective of the game is to win. The point of the game is to have fun. The two should never be confused.

Uff that price isn't that great.

Isn't the Kasrkin model one of their miniature of the month sculpts? That leaves only the Ogryn as "new".

Do we know the GBP price yet? I've just realised it doesn't look like the Traitor Guardsmen will be a full Blooded set, as there's no sign of the traitor Commissar or Ogryn.

On this part, board games of recent years sold through stores that do not normally stock GW stuff have been reasonably priced. Darktide is sold straight from GW (and select retailers, whatever that means). What are the odds that GW is going to put up a game like that and not price it like, say, Underworlds or Warcry?

As soon as GW revealed the manner of distribution, reasonable price wasn't a realistic expectation anymore.

If it's 85€, the equivalent UK price is 65 pounds.

Looking at the sprues on the GW site, the traitor infantry is the KT kit, minus the Commissar and ab bodyguard, but no pushfit or anything.

Ogryn and Kasrkin come on single sprue and are also not push-fits.

Jesus. They're fething mad if they think $180Aud is an acceptable price for that.

Can't wait for the inevitable expansion pack where they sell you 1 of the mutant pskyers from Blackstone Fortress with a handful of cards, a new piece of board and smash a $50 price tag on it.

Wow. Welcome, potential new players, glue together these complex traitor guardsmen with multiple optional bits to play this simple game! Given that they recut Vorne, why did they not just recut the 'simple' traitor guards from Blackstone Fortress?

Also what is with the empty base shown in the photo of the player characters?

First GW invisible model?

The price follows GW logic. A squad of infantry and two characters slightly exceed the price of the game. The other two characters and six Poxies are free, along with the paper components. Not all models have exact equivalents sold, but as an estimate you'd be looking at a 30% to 40% discount or so over the individual miniatures. That's in line with what you'd expect of other GW boxed games.

Of course is silly and overpriced, but no more than usual.

There's a few weird things going on with this game, but considering it's sold straight through GW's webstore, I doubt it's aimed at newcomers. There should be no need for easy build models.

I am guessing the art department were meant to edit that base onto the trooper with the black base so that they all matched.

This was so so when I assumed it would be $35 or $40 like the other Barnes and Noble games. While it's good to get one released in the UK £65 is a wild price.

Doesn't have the l'il sprue for the KT specialists like the breacher or Knifey McKniferson either.

Ash was extremely enthusiastic about the game in this video. He points out that GW doesn’t offer anything else like it, a coop Warhammer game. He’s hoping for expansion content (in White Dwarf at the very least).

I think he did mention it briefly, but mentioned it had a much more complex setup/tear down and was a lot more specific rather than broad with it's characters and missions. He thinks Darktide has a lot more opportunity for conversions/fan-made content, which I would probably agree with. After watching a few gameplay videos it does seem like a pretty fun game that you could expand pretty easy with other Chaos/Xenos/Whatever minis you have laying around, and making new missions seems pretty easy as well.

Honestly it does seem like a product I would probably like (personally enjoyed Blackstone Fortress quite a bit without even expanding it), but even at 90 USD from discounters it is a pretty hard pill to swallow for what you get in the box. Especially considering BSF was what 150 USD/170 USD? not that long ago and had new sculpts and a lot more miniatures.

So did any real people buy it, yet?

Honestly not interested in these you tube shills, they get all their stuff for free.

If it's reasonable at 45 to 50 bucks, I'm interested. $110.00? No thanks, GW is already overstepping the price hikes to the point that the FLGS is not even stocking them, except in special order. Games like this should be Gateway games, not additional barriers to enter.

I was actually thinking about getting it. A cooperative / solo type game with small footprint/easy set up is always something I'm interested in.

I probably would have gotten a copy even at $60 but was hoping it would be less. At $110? Too rich for me.

That was my take too. I was thrilled for this when I assumed it would be priced like the other B&N games. This is way too much to rationalize.
