Oo, off topic but how do you think the Leclerc would do in Ukraine with a properly trained crew? A lot of the complaints around Abrams is its part of system of aviation and artillery that doesn't exist in Ukraine so is having bigger problems than expected.

Unfortunately, that's somewhat too sensitive a topic to discuss right here, after all, I'm still part-time soldier. I hope you understand my position!

I have had to learn the technique of speaking in generalities and often checking to see if anyone has published such thoughts so I can simply refer people to those articles But yes, don't want another Jack Teixeira like forum incident.

Interestingly on that general note I have started using the some of the Perun youtube videos as suggested primers for certain topics for colleagues (there is always a time to learn more about procurement decisions).

I respect my fellow NATO armored crewman operational security.
As far as the Abrams is concerned, the Top of the tank (as any tank designed in the 1980s) has thin top armor. A small shaped charge dropped from a drone (or attack helicopters) could do some damage and seriously injure or kill crew. As far as direct fire, its 105mm rifled or 120mm smoothbore, has excellent fire control, allowing high first shot kill percentage. None of this is classified and can be found in myriad of military books. I have heard the Ukrainians fitting drone jammers and spaced top armor on the tanks, to mixed results. Also of course, tactics always need to be changed, its not just the weapon, but how you use it.
back to the original discussion:
The Leman Russ seems to be designed close to the prototype French BDR G1B? This is a tank that can be virtualy used in the WOTs video game.
