Does anyone know why the GW website hasn't updated for two whole weeks?  No new Black Gobbo, no new releases, no new previews....  It's finally got me wondering.

They have had some sort of server issues that are stopping them from updating their web sites.

The Specialsit Games site was the first one to be affected. I'm not sure what problem they could ahve that would let their web servers work but not allow them to update the content. Maybe they got hacked and don't have admin access to the sites any more?

Hey Guys,
The server that pushes the new content up crashed and burned! So while the servers running the site were unaffected, it was impossible to upload new content from the test servers to the real thing.
The new server is being installed and things should be back on track soon. Sorry about that!

so, are you mad that he answered?  mad that his answer isn't acceptable? or mad that he is here? 

We actually have quite a few lurkers of the GW variety.

You catch hints of their presence every once in a while. MUCH more rarely, they actually pop in and drop a post or 2.

If you want update go on the france GW site.  They have already announced the release date of the new set of dice for the next version of warhammer. By the way the release date for the rulebook and the orcs & goblins army is also there

Oh ok. I figured there would be some sort of GW presence here, I mean this community harbors some of the greatest minds in the hobby--would be nice if they take our hints and fix their company though. But hey, its GW, what do we expect?

I figure this type of attitude, which is rampant among the folks here is exactly the reason why anyone from GW is lothe to post here.
There's been enough times where a GW rep posts and people attack him.

Wouldn't dream of attacking them; doubt the guys who make a presence here have much say in the overall company, though I could be wrong.

Actually, the GW guys have been very good when it comes to giving out information about things that are important, especially time-sensitive things.  They don't post much, but they have answered some important questions (tournament problems or questions come to mind).

I think that we should be the as polite as possible to these folks, since they have the best information out there, and can really help us out from time to time.

I guess thats why I've never seen them, or figured it out atleast--few posts -> me not seeing them. Well, maybe one day they'll become a regular member here, up to the levels of like Yakface or someone.

How many GW guys police us here?

 

I seem to remember a time when we were glad to have people from GW posting on the forums.  We've lost many of them due to people ranting at them.

I asked GW about this (at least for the US site), when I called recently.

The excuse I was given was that the US web team has been swamped getting the Medusa V site ready and then keeping it going.

Whether I believe this or not is another story....
