Yeah Im all about fair competition and all market share blablabla...but why is PP focusing on following others. Why not stick to what they do best, which is making games. Seems like they might want to actually release models for their games on a somewhat more aggressive schedule and maintain production of released figs.

Seems like a case of keeping up with the Johnsons rather than true insperation. I dont recall anyone complaining about not having enough paint options...I do recall people asking about when solos and new figs will finally be sold.

I hope these are soooo good I'll ger rid of my Valejo paints.(NOPE) But PP is probably counting on No Quarter hype and Noobs who pick up their starter box+paints in one swoop. Whats next PP glue, flock, water effects, JUNGLE PLANTS. Come on PP I know your better than this. Your bases are beveled for cying out loud.

I recall warzone doing this for their games. Faction paint sets that is. As to the quality of the paints, I cannot say.

I know privateer is doing well, but that scheme didnt help warzone or target games at all.

Big Fan of Privateer as well, but I think this is pretty unnecessary. Not very likely that I will throw out all the paints I have, or buy similiar colors just because its "Paint by Privateer". I also find it interesting that instead of letting GF9 do the tokens for Hordes like they did for Warmachine, Privateer will be doing them In-House. Good business decision maybe, but also leans toward becoming what they have railed against.

I mostly lurk, its just safer that way. Oh but the things I have read....

more of what is making me disinterested in PP products now. I was a HUGE supporter of everything PP early in the year, but the announcement of the $100 cav unit, the pushing away of GF9 which helped them immensely, and now putting out an unneeded paint set... I'm in agreement, give us models, make your quality control a WHOLE LOT better and then think aobut other things. It's called walking before you run

I shall buy them, and post a review.

If all else fails I can throw them at the wall and call it modern art.

Up your nose with a rubber hose.

Personally I'm looking forward to these. I've got the feeling that the colors won't be your standard "Artists' Pigments With Fantasy Names" or GW copies, but rather tones that are evocative of the whole steampunk aesthetic.

The Formula P3 paints are being developed by Mike McVey in cooperation with the manufacturer. McVey also developed GW's line of paints.

If they're like the GW paints, no thanks I'll stick with Vallejo.

What's this about the pushing a way of GF9?

Put simply, they didn't. Per Matt Wilson, Gale Force 9 did not have the production capacity for their token design, so they had to go to another company. So basically GF9 had the option to make them but couldn't, and they went somewhere else. That's what I'm reading into Wilson's comments. PP will continue to utilize GF9 for Warmachine tokens + templates, and I think they maybe even mentioned another project in the works?

Comments from Mike McVey on the new Formula P3 paints.

well did we think he was going to down play his paints? i mean come on.. GW says they have the best paints, Vellajo says the same and so does every other tom, dick and harry that has a hand in the process.

i am sure he is going to like his style of paints, and it remains to be seen how these turn out, but dammit, when a painter starts sculpting (piss poor models in my opinion, but i digress) and then claims to be a painter only and  etc etc etc. it seems to me the boy has too many horses to ride and not sure where to park his *donkey*at the end of the day.

in otherwords, it is nice he did this, but his word is only that.. i wouldn't expect to hear negative comments.. and, funny thing is, the majority of people cry for a dropper and he still wants it his way.. oh well, so much for listening to what people want..  lol

You can support your product without the attitude that they've presented. It sounds like they think anyone that uses a dropper bottle to mix paints has commited a capital crime.

My username over there is "courageandhonor", I'm one of the ones arguing with them about how they're being jackasses about the whole thing. I totally agree--they're basically acting SNOBBY about the whole thing.

They're also being very snobby about the Hordes Tokens. They release some initial information, that only says "plastic tokens and cardboard chits", and naturally, people were like, "Cardboard chits, BLECH". So then they post, 3 forum pages later, "you guys are morons, here's what we're doing with the cardboard chits."

Um, yeah. And what exact response did you expect? If you don't want people to flip out about your inane decisions and vague postings, then POST MORE DETAILS. Don't just tell us "Cardboard Chits", tell us how you're using them, so we don't get all pissed off.

Anyway--they've got this "Holier than Thou" attitude about both topics. They seem to have this pervasive "Why don't you just TRUST us for once" attitude. Whatever--why the hell should I trust you? I don't even know you. Just make better marketing decisions, then I don't have to trust you.
