This is a semi competitive 2000pts list for black templars.

The Emperors Champion goes with the Terminators and charges headlong into the biggest, scariest unit the enemy have got to offer and hopfully go through them (4 power weapon strenth 5 inititive 5 attacks on charge re-roling hits and wounds each) and any vehicle can be killed with the two thunderhammers. If the enemy unit is really big and really scary, Grimaldus is there with his command squad to back them up.
Once the terminators have killed ther target they will probably get charged. They should be fine with a 2 up save and 5 up invunreble. They may take 2 or 3 casualties but that is fine.
The Sword Brethren will be the counterattacking unit mounted in rhinos and should carry the momentum. With the enemy's elites dead, they should be able to take on anything left (4 strenth 5 inititive 5 on charge re-roling hits each)
The 2 Crusader squads and Grimaldus unit (if they're not engaged with the terminators) will form your battle line and footslog up the board. They will engage the enemy's other units. Don't worry if they take fire and casualties as these units are disposable.
This army should win with overwhelming attacks and numbers. Its only weakness is Grey Knights or Blood Angels, as they do combat very well. With these armies, make sure you pick your battles and always charge.
