IamIronMan's Knights Templar

Backstory

The Knights Templar are a relatively new chapter founded at the start of M41. Based on their homeworld of Troy, a feudal world not far from Terra, it has only recently been spared by constant warp storms around it. The Imperial Guard arrived to witness a world where gunpowder had just about developed, and that even though they had superior firepower and numbers, the indigenous population threw up a fierce resistance that took a regiment of ten million of Cadian's finest three years to conquer. Thus, the world was designated as the homeworld of an Imperial Fists Successor Chapter, due to the stubbornness of the population. Veteran Captain Stossen Theodotus of the Black Templars was assigned as the Chapter Master of the new chapter, known as the Knights Templar.

Unit Photos

This is Chapter Master Stossen, (who is sometimes used as a captain). I kit-bashed him from a Black Templars kit, a terminator chaplain, some bits my friend gave me, and two plumes from the Dire Avenger sprues. The wings represent a jump pack, and he is armed with two(!) bolt pistols and a relic blade. So far, he has completely destroyed at least ten units (One of which was an assault squad!) on his own, so I usually use him as a (very dangerous) distraction to my enemy, while my Sternguard do all the hard work.

This is my Terminator Chaplain, which I used with my old Hawk Lords army (Which is incorporated into this army!). The paintjob is average, I'm thinking about re-doing him. He is armed with a storm bolter and a crozius, but chaplains are overrated unless they're the Black Templar ones.

The Pre-Heresy Razorback Noble Steed serves with the Knights Templar 3rd company, carrying Veteran squad Epsilon. It is armed with a T-L Assault Cannon (Stolen from a Ravenwing sprue), but isn't yet finished.

Squad Epsilon rides to battle in the mighty Razorback Noble Steed, and are excellent marksmen that utilize special issue ammunition to devastate enemies at mid range, and are more than capable of holding their own in combat. They are Sternguard Veterans armed with special issue ammunition and boltguns, and pack a deadly puch at mid-range> These guys are great from taking out MC and infantry alike.

Tactical Squad Dominion are a long range fire support squad, with a Lascannon and Plasma gun to knock out enemy transports, and occasionally light tanks. The plasma gun is also a MEQ shredder, and many an overconfident enemy has succumbed to the deadly hail of bolter fire that this squad can dish out. The Sergeant is armed with a plasma pistol and a power mace.

Army List

Why I Started This Army

I originally started this army because I got a bit bored of my flimsy Eldar dying in droves when exposed to massed fire, so subtlety went out of the window and I began collecting my space marine army. My first attempt was with the Hawk Lords, which I painted horribly after a few years out of the loop. I have incorporated them into my army as a tactical squad and an assault terminator squad. After picking up a few extra models, I thought up the current paint scheme and painted up a Captain which I had converted extensively. After playing a few games, I used, for the first time, Sternguard Veterans. These guys were the thing that pushed me into collecting a full time space marine army. They have great models, great rules, and just look cool on the battle field.
