Iron Warriors - 8th Grand Company
Like the other traitor legions, the Iron Warriors broke down when falling back to the Eye of Terror, though the Iron Warriors have managed to keep much of their legion structure compared to other legions, such as the World Eaters for example. When the Iron Warriors fell back many strong spirited commanders broke off as their own warbands, to lead their own destiny. Some went on their own, while others took their own followers and troops which once followed them into combat.
The 8th Grand Company was fractured into several warbands, one particularly warband called itself the Siege Breakers led by Warsmith Davross. It had been noted that two of blood brothers were strong willed and many of the warband would follow them instead of Davross. Davross himself was a physical powerful Warsmith, and had many daemon engines and heavy weaponary at his command. At the siege of Kolbrun VI, the Warsmith fell in combat against a mighty Imperial Fist captain. The Warsmith reportedly escaped death at the hands of the Fists captain and in his escape stumbled upon the blood brothers. Warsmith Davross was never seen again.
Over the thousands of years the blood brothers lead the Siege Breakers uniquely as joined Warsmiths. Together they gathered more followers, striked bargains with Obliterator cults for rare technology, deals with Sorcerers for lost arcane magic and chaos artefacts and binds for daemons to keep them in the real space.
In the year M39.41 the blood brothers had reformed majority of the 8th Grand Company and commanded many of its Marines from its former structure. With almost full Grand Company the blood brothers lead a daring planetstrike invasion on a forgeworld in the Halo Stars. The strike was a success and many machines of war were captured for the blood brothers, with new assets the brothers launched a attack on a dead world, which served purpose as a Space Marine geneseed storage. The 8th Grand Company laid siege for 4 months, and despite reinforcements from several Space Marine chapters, the 8th Grand Company was successful.
Now with their ranks bolstered by new Chaos Marines from the captured geneseed and the destruction of three Space Marine chapters both brothers were rewarded to daemon princes. The youngest sibling became known as the Blood Red Prince, a monstrous powerful creature with rage to match of a Bloodthirster of Khorne. His daemonic skin changed to the colour of red and meshed with his power armour forged on the very grand forges on Olympia. The oldest of the two became known as the Dead Prince, his appearance becoming dead and grey like a corpse, a colour any Plaque Marine would be proud of. Together the Blood and Dead Princes fly over battlefields diving into the thick of the fighting, their daemonic bodies destroying all before them with swings of mighty giant swords, or body enveloping fire or super natural speed aided by the power of the warp.

The Dead Prince

The Blood Red Prince

Both princes follow the champions armed with the power fist and power weapon into combat, taking cover behind the rhinos as much as possible. I always use warp time and mark of nurgle on both, the mark makes them more immune to small arms fire and warp time is just invaluable.
Chaos Terminators

I have 3 units of chaos terminators, 2 units are used in normal games which have 1 x chain fist, mark of tzeentch and 4 combi weapons. In Planetstrike games I take 3 units which have the same wargear except 2 x chain fists for extra bunker busting. I take mark of tzeentch as I fought some Genestealers once and I had mark of slaanesh. The extra inititive did nothing as the 'Stealers were still quicker, and if I had a better invulnerable save some might have made that save against all those rending attacks! Chain fist really puts the hurts on vehicles and walkers and taking combi weapons is good, as you can choose what weapon you want depending on what army your playing against.
Chaos Dreadnoughts

I only use these two in Planetstrike games, they work well for the crazed rolls and I take multi meltas and heavy flamer to take out those bunkers, or any enemy unit inside. The custom Chaos Dreadnought I actually got out of a deal, I was expecting only one Dreadnought when I got two! So I got out a file and had a play. I needed another, so after watching some on e-bay and see they go for a bargain £15, which is over under half price I bit the bullet.
Chaos Marines & Rhinos

I use 3 units of 10 chaos marines two units are armed with 2 meltaguns the other 2 plasmaguns. One champ takes a power fist and other a power weapon and melta bombs. Each unit rides in a chaos rhino. Either blast melta from the top, or just use the chaos rhino as a moving bullet shield and once its popped foot slog and light those meltas up!
Obliterators

I never used to use Obliterators before, then I thought what the hell they actually look damn good. So I got 3 of them, most the time I use lascannons but with all the other goodies they can come in handy.
Defilers

I used to run 2 Chaos Vindicators, they were ok but a lucky lascannon shot would take one out before it even fires :( . So I weighed up the cons and pros of a Defiler and took instead, the extra range did it for me and able to fight in close combat as well. They do ok, usually take all the fire power as they're big and scary! lol.
Scorpions

Originally I was going to do a Brass Scorpion conversion, but after seeing someone elses model making a scorpion from one Defiler kit I thought I'd do the same. So I got two Scorpions, one has the double flails instead of claws which is interesting. I use them only in Planetstrike games as count as Vindicators seems the Brass Scorpions main cannon is the same profile as a demolisher cannon.

Why I Started This Army
I started doing Black Legion, and in fact finished the army, though the paint scheme isn't hard :P . I thought the paint job looked boring and wasn't interesting, so instead of following the box art I decided to do another traitor legion. I had a look and Iron Warriors caught my fancy, after doing 3 test models with boltgun metal and badab black I was impressed, also I wanted just a "bad" chaos marine army, not any daemon loving fools. Just some pure bad ass mothers, and Iron Warriors filled that gap.
