Why I Started This Army

After doing my Slaanesh Daemons, I ended up picking up a pack of flamers. And they were fun to paint. Then, when I was planning for the Adepticon 2009 Gladiator, I knew I was going to bring An'ggrath (the Khorne super-bloodthirster), and realized that, for a gladiator tournament, theme wasn't as important as performance, and I ended up needing some horrors and a fateweaver model. Once I'd gone that far, I decided to do an army for each of the four Chaos gods, and Tzeentch was the next in line.

Design Notes

Each god that I've done has a different base type. The bases for the Tzeentch Daemons are "Spooky Bases" from Micro Art Studios. I used them to represent warp spirits - the Tzeentch daemons are based as though they're still in Tzeentch's lair in the warp. The Chariot and the Daemon Princes are conversions from the Tomb Kings line - mimicking the Egyptian flavour that is found on the Thousand Suns. The Lord of Change uses a Wood Elf warhawk's head, painted to hopefully convey a warp energy around its eye.
