OK so I was tinkering with a new IG army idea and have been kicking around Army Builder... I have been thinking about Tallarns (since I have quite a few from my genestealer Cult army....which is pretty much a dead list now ) with lots of Infiltrating Light infantry, and a bunch of Sentinels for support, no other vehicles.... OR Savlar Chem-Dogs because I liek the fluff and would like to do another chem-inhalers based army. I like the idea of a grittier IG army with lots of bad,bad men in it. OR a mechanized list with Chimeras everywhere and plenty of troops to support the tanks.

This thread is to see what you guys think of this last idea. I have a color scheme and a great conversion idea for the whole army. I'm looking at a similar feel as the Death Korps guys but with different models. I wanted the tanks to be WWI/ early WWII in their appearance (clunky turrets and exposed tracks) and the guys to have coats and gasmasks (I will post the conversions if I get this started).

OK so the list...(so far)I like the idea of cheap Chimeras with two heavies and six shots a piece. Plus the 12 armor to the front is nice. I made a list with two platoons and a total of 9 Chimeras.

I have some cool fluff thought up and plan on some nice conversions for these guys (if I can get my hands on enough Vostroyans and chop the up!). OK so, some thoughts on color schemes...

I like the raised crew area and the gun slits instead of those silly "antenna" looking lasguns. also I love the integrated turret. I just gotta figure out where the other gun is gonna go. I will probably leave the heavy bolter in its original place and put the multi laser in the turret (I plan on making it look more like a water cooled machine gun though).

The Silent Company of Korsk

Korsk is a world that was overrun by depravity and crime. Criminal empires spread the breadth of the planet and fought wars for territory and resourses. Until the Inquisition came. Inqusitor Rhaal chose to set up his base of operations on Korsk to give him a place to recruit and train the hardest elements of the Empire. Being of the Ordo Hereticus, Rhaal needed troops that could move through an urban environment and clear it of all Heretical elements, whilst staying completely untainted themselves. Rhaal had developed a new method if "indoctrination" that left the subject completely loyal to the Empire, while retaining its skills aquired in a less than loyal lifestyle. A side effect of the indoctrination process leaves the subject unable to utter a word.This is how the Korskan Silent Company was born. Used to clear the most heretical of worlds, the Korskans can be exposed to a much higher level of heresy than the normal Imperial Guard unit without fear of taint, or the spread of heretical information.

Many a Heresy has died in the face of the eerily silent warriors of Korsk.

I used vostroyan bodies and some Pig Iron heads to give them a heavy armored/equipped feel while still looking slightly archaic (I want them to look WWI ish). Kind of a poor-man's Death Korps, but something "unique" as well.

sorry for the pile of posts, I have consolidated a few posts from other sites into one blog for this project. It has been on hold for a bit but I have recently purchased a fair amount of Vostroyans and Chimeras to finally get rolling on these guys.

Also I plan on building a table themed around them to paly on. It will be a Forgeworld with lots of factory type buildings. I have bought a bunch of [i]Platforms[/i] buildings to make a manufactorium table. My Word Bearers army will also be re-based to match up with this table to give the Korsk an adversary. Pics of the table will go here as well (when I finally get around to assembly of it). The bases will be gridwork and concrete, like this:
