And THIS is by and far the best pic of the Chapter Council.

Is it really the case that the Terminus pattern LR can't aim its rear side sponson LCs straight forward? Looks a little silly to me. Would have much preferred a Hurricane bolter-esque solution.

The Council's pretty cool. The only thing that bugs me is how similar the faces are. If not for the context, I would think them alternate sculpts of the same in-game model.

Terminus, how laughable. Probably got a high price togo with its so called uberness. Yet only half the weapons can fire at any one time, no more than two turrets at any one target; and that is if it doesnt move and uses machine spirit to get a third turret to bear at a second target.

Oh and its fugly.

According to the release schedule it's $50.

Council figures look very nice, though I'm not sure if they'd be any use in my Space Wolf army. The veterans that should be getting released (soonish?) are worth spending out on.
Well I got to say, I WAS hoping for something new from GW with the LR Terminus.
Looks to me like something cobbled together from parts in a spares box.
Major disappointment , reckon I could save myself some cash and make it myself.
Oh well.

i like the chapter master with the hammer but the one holding his helmit is cool to, as for the raider i will to stik withe the crusader, this new one is only a normil one with a razorback lascannon in place of the hevy bolters and predator sponsens i could make it with my raider and bitz box,

Trust me, if you're going to be playing Space Marines in Apocalypse you'll more than likely want the Terminus. Five lascannon shots against an enemy warmachine is not to be dismissed so lightly.

I was going to make a snarky comment about how static the poses are on the council members, but then I realized that they aren't supposed to be running around, howling and shooting and pooping on stuff; they're supposed to be standing next to a holo-table, taking bets on how long it's going to take the Death Star to transit Yavin.

The Terminus looks fun too.  The rational part of my brain keeps thinking how immature it is to just keep slapping more big guns on big tanks, but the emotional part is trying to high-five my hypothalamus about how cool it is.

It certainly is. The extra lascannon sponsons are the ones from the Predator kit (someone on Warseer said that's what they were doing for it yesterday, and I poo-pood the idea because they wouldn't fit properly... apparently GW decided they didn't care how they fit, they're doing it anyway) and the turret lascannons are from the Razorback.

However useful all those lascannons may be in Apocalypse, it's a silly looking tank.

Seriously? That's awful. Just because it's essentially an official kit-bash doesn't mean it should look like this. The Brass Scorpion looks very decent in comparison.

The Terminus just looks stupid.

Here's hoping FW does their own version in a similar fashuin to the LR Prometheus.

That kitbashed titan build around a land speeder is pretty cool looking though. I like the subtle improvements on the Vindicators.

I don't think the Terminus is ugly so much as it's lascannon placement is awkward. The model as shown requires almost no modeling skill, hence I believe that's why GW went that direction. A better option would have been to hang the extra lascannon below the other two on the sponsons and to move the hull mounted lascannons further back on the main hull using the Forgeworld Razorback Turret. The opening for the hull mounted twin bolters that are on the standard Land Raider could be filled like it is on the Land Raider Prometheus.

Couldnt disagree more, only GW think that AV14 is truely survivable and worth the points cost, Monolith excepting. This tank is not a warmachine just a one hit vehicle an in Apocalypse you can be sure there will be enough firepower to inflict that single hit on the first turn. Then you are back to lascannon Preds, lascannon tacticals and tank hunting Dev squads to do the real work. Frankly I would just stick with them to begin with.

If it's the biggest tank you have, then yes you will want one. And it's price should be somewhat less than that of a Baneblade or another warmachine.  Hence you can purchase more of them.  Last time I looked, more targets was better than putting all of your eggs in one basket.

Plus, you're making the assumption that it will only be a 'one hit vehicle' in Apocalypse. Have you seen the rules yet? Let's wait until we see the actual rules for Land Raiders before we start pronouncing judgement.

The terminus is ok, I can take it or leave it personally. I LOVE the Chapter masters, especially the one holding his helmet! I'll own these guys for my Ultra's.

The vindicator looks good.

However, one thing I have noticed is what little news/rumors have been coming from the last few Games-days...is it just me or is the info lacking tremendously?? I was hoping that Chicago and now Germany would have produced alot of information about what's happening next in GW-land. I was hoping for some ork stuff as I have always had an interest in them.

What we have learned about Apocalypse has me really excited for the supplement. I just have to bulk up my Zilla army and my ultra's, but I want to wait and see what GW has in store for Space Marines.

Thanks,
Chappy P!

Never mind the points cost, you'll simply never get 5 shots against a single target. The rear sponsons can't turn to the front because of the ones in front.

You'll never get more than 3 at a single target, which rather defies the point of the extra weapons.

Even better, someone on Warseer translated the German rules sheet. Apparently, it suffers a Pen Hit if you roll 4 or more ones when you roll to Hit... which, of course, is rather pointless since you'll never be rolling for more than 3 Lascannons at once...

No big suprise but it looks from the pic that it might get some special rules... special rules for a "special" looking tank. I hope it gets something... from looks alone I cant say it is doing much for me.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

A six marine tanking hunting three missile squad costs 158pts, I reckon I will get nearly two such squads for the cost of the Terminus, which I guess at about 300pts. The Devs will be far more survivable and throw out about the same firepower for the cost. Most of all I havent used any HS slots yet. I would go for Whirlwinds and Vindicators for my HS, they ought to do very well in numbers.

I wont mind so much if this was not a one off but opart of a set of official conversions for everyone to use. So long as each army gets several different frankentanks to build we can afford a few turkeys in the mix. Choice is choice, however if they intenhd to copy the sprue designs to make a Terminus sprue then I would wish for a better design frankly.

Disregard... apparently the special rule is on 4 1's before rerolls the terminus takes a penetrating hit. I was really looking forward to a new land raider variant. I would have been happier if they would just let you replace the TL Hvy bolters on a regular land raider with a twin linked lascannon for 3 tl lascannons total. Then you could have the best of both worlds crusader in close and a heavy hitting long range anti tank land raider. oh well just have to invest more in baneblades.

But they are at least bald.  So we have that

I guess these guys have had enough time to come to terms with their baldness and no longer scream about it.

It just stinks of laziness. They want to make a new Marine kit... so they get some sprues from two other tanks, slap 'em on a Land Raider in an awkward fashion, bump its cost to 300 points (but give it no structure points), and then write an idiotic rule that you will never suffer from because you can't turn enough guns in the same direction to roll 4 1's.

They should've just given it a a Predator Turret and left the sponsons alone, or two sets of TL-Lascannon sponsons per side... then, atleast, the tank could do broadsides.

Granted the pictured model for the Terminus looks a bit shoddy - but that doesn't stop you from creating your own.  If you think that hurricane style lascannons would look better or work better on the model then make it that way.  GW is providing a bunch rules and showing you how they see the model.  Don't let GW's basic model get in the way of your imagination.

The Ork with supershoota looks much better painted.  The chapter council is sweet looking.  I am curious how the vindicator will be set up on the sprues?  Basic model with Chaos sprue addition for chaos and imperial sprue addition for the imperium?  (Insert scratching  chin smiley here).
