Heyo. I've got a big Apoc game tomorrow, and I've been working on a sisters of battle superheavy to use during it. I kind of doubt it's done enough to really field, but I figured I'd work on a datasheet for it just in case. At the moment, I'm only planning on using the quad melta cannon, but I've included Space_Potato's Holocaust Cannon rules as well, and I'm not really sure how to price that either.

Points- I was thinking 500 or 550. Too little/too much?

Type- Super-heavy Tank

Structure Points- 3

Unit Stats-
BS: 4 Armour: Front 14 Side 13 Rear 12

Transport: Capacity of 30
Fire Points: Up to 20 may fire from the fighting platform
Access Points: Treated as open-topped for the purposes of embarking and disembarking

Weapons and Equipment:
-Hull-mounted Quad Melta-Cannon or Hull-mounted Holocaust cannon (+X Points??)
-Hull-mounted twin-linked heavy bolter
-Two hull-mounted twin-linked heavy flamers
-Two sponsons, each with one twin-linked multi-melta and one flamestorm cannon
-Searchlight and smoke launchers

Weapons:
Quad Melta Cannon- Range: 24" Str: 8 AP: 1 Heavy 2, Twin-linked, Melta, 5" Blast, Primary weapon
Holocaust Cannon- Range: Hellstorm Template Str: 7 AP: 3 Heavy 1, Primary Weapon, Conflagration of Heretics

Conflagration of Heretics: If a unit takes an unsaved wound from the Holocaust cannon, it must immediately take a LD test/morale check at -1 to its usual LD value. If it fails, it must fall back (using the normal 'fall back' rules) in a straight line away from the Superheavy. Also, any unit that takes an unsaved wound from the Holocaust cannon will recieve another D3 wounds in the next turn, as the blessed flames continue to burn.

Special Rules
Highly Flammable(From the Forge World Malcador Infernus): Carrying large amounts of flammable fuel, this tank is a rolling bomb! If the tank suffers an Explosion result on the Catastrophic Damage table then roll a further de. On a 2+ treat the Explosion as an Apocalyptic Explosion! instead.

Here's the P&M Blog, and here are a few pics of the superheavy itself:

Cheers!

Woo!

I'd price it around 575 points to be honest, it boasts very good weapons, a nice special rule and a good transport capacity. Any less and it's too cheap IMO.

Thanks for using my rules for the Holocaust Cannon, by the way

Sure thing, thanks for coming up with them!

I tried to judge the points compared to the other baneblade-chassis superheavies, and here's kind of what I was thinking.
Pros:
-More and generally better non-primary weapons
-BS 4
Cons:
-Quad melta significantly shorter-ranged and I feel less powerful than the other superheavy weapons, but maybe it's not.
-All weapons very short-ranged.
-Just added in the Highly Flammable special rule from the forge world malcador infernus. Seems fitting.

Transport capacity is high, but not as high as the Stormlord. I based a lot of it off the stormlord actually.
That said, I could see 575, especially with the BS 4 and so much of it being twin-linked.

I've thought about adding in some SoB faithy stuff, but I think that would end up being overly complex.

I really like this. Could also be un-believably useful for a salamander

Edmondblack: There's something about some str10, AP2 blast weaponry which says "i love you" in that very special way.

Well, with the whole burnin heretics thing, change the wording of the last sentence to:

"Any unit that takes an unsaved wound from the Holocaust Cannon takes D3 Ap3 wounds that ignore cover."

just to clarify things

"Da Mek'z tinker nd do their job
The boys 'll smash yah, so will da Nob
The Bos 'll stompa till your dead
Snikrot 'll kill ya wiff is hands behind is 'ead!"

^^^^ Ode to Snikrot, the Sneakiest, Stabbiest, Morkiest, Kommando to ever walk the face of whoever looked at him funny! Tourne W/D/L 6/0/0 Public W/D/l 24/2/8 All with my orksof course

I ended up using the melta version in my apoc game, and had it approved by the FLGS owner with the following modifications:

500 pts total
total troop capacity of 20
3" Blast on the melta cannons rather than 5" blast.
plus that highly flammable bit, which actually really affected how I played it.

All in all, pretty satisfied with that.

Started out pretty strong, and between this and my exorcists they took out the nightbringer and his squad of pariahs before they got to do anything. It got immobilized in a crappy position soon after that though, and spent basically the rest of the game trying to repair itself.

Haha, thanks. It definitely would.

Very good point. I could see it now though: "Oh no mates, we're on fire! Quick, jump into that dry underbrush to block them out!"

Nice !

Fun to see ideas for a super-heavy SoB vehicle
(and to see it can work correctly on the battlefield, with no over- or under- powered issues).

And I hope to see your tank finish, soon !
