Hello Dakka,

Here are some Ariadna and Haqqislam minis from Infinity that I had painted up so far; hopefully with this thread I'll be a bit more motivated on getting the rest of my batch finished up before I start ordering more stuff.

Ariadna batch:

Haqqislam batch:

Currently working on another 3 Haqq minis; will update as soon as they're done.

Very nice stuff!

And it is always a pleasure to see more Infinity miniatures on Dakka Dakka!

Aye, love the Haqqislam colours.

The Ariadna are good too, just something about those Haqqislam really stand out.

WOW. Those are fantastic! I'm typically not a fan of the clear bases but you made them work fantastically.

Nice models - the plain clear bases are something you don't often see, but I think they work here.

Look forward to seeing more

Oh wow thanks for the responses.

The reason for the decision on clear bases is that since this is a small scale skirmish game with units that are really more urban-looking than uh, field-looking (if that makes sense at all?), I decided having traditionally done bases will clash with too many things because I'm a spazz like that; seeing dirt and grass on a base when the mini's standing on asphalt, having asphalt on the base when the mini's standing on a patch of grass, you get the idea. I posted this test shot a little while ago elsewhere to show how clear bases worked out on printed terrain:

(I'll work on a real table later on; at the moment I'm kinda limited on work and storage space)

I really like the gold visor your one Haqqislam guy has. It really pops when compared to his dark armor!

The action shot looks great

Whilst there is certainly plenty to say for basing models (not to mention it is fun), the clear bases do really work for this kind of setting.

Now I'm curious as to where those clear bases came from!

I second this, where did you get them?

And, of course, great work on those miniatures!

Kanluwen, those are from litko.net; was trying to make my own before but I'm a bit too clumsy to get those round shapes punched out after scoring acrylic sheets without having little fractures showing up.

Excellent, I think I might have to look into those for my ALEPH.

NIce job on the tiger stripe.

I've been planning on using clear bases for my aleph, but I'm still in the process of painting them. I really like how that worked out and may have to make some plans for building my terrain in such a manner eventually. I just haven't gotten the motivation to put together full terrain sets and with the clear bases that really looks pretty good.

Beautiful work here! Your painting is top notch and those bases were a great idea. I hope WarMill's bases have a similar effect.

Ooooh those are really stunning. I love the grey Ariadna... it's a nice change from the usual green.

The clear bases also look great! I'm very tempted to de-base my Aleph and try that too

Just amazing. I have always loved Infinite's figures, but don't know anyone out here who plays it, so the few that I bought I use in my Imperial gaurd, (Wishing I had many more). You've taken an amazing model and made it twice as good with your attentive painting skills. But the Icing on the cake is the clear bases. Simply outstanding work. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for the feedback, everybody! I'm glad that you guys like both the camo and the muted haqq schemes. I really have no idea on what color scheme I'm going for when I finally get my pano dudes though; I guess blue something but yeah, no idea what to do yet.

Did another quick test shot last night with some stuff from worldworks:

I'm kinda thinking about using terrain pieces in new mini shots so that pics don't look as boring; haven't really decided which way I'm gonna end up though.

Why not both? Closer shots on a plain background make it easier to focus on the lovely minis, but your "action shots" have a lot of flavor. Sure, it's more work for you, but you'll keep Dakka's Infinity fans happy!

I think if you were to grime up the ambulances and other terrain stuff, it'd look a lot more like a world that's "lived in" rather than just a backdrop for some action shots.

Oadie's right though. The action shots are good, but the clean vehicles just look out of place.

Most Ambulances I see on the road aren't really 'grimed' up.

I do understand what oadie and Kanluwen are saying; the ambulance van isn't shaded at all and because of that it looks extremely fat when I parked the 2 pained guys next to it. I haven't decided on anything though, at the moment those cars are just there to block line of sight and make the board look a little more lively until I find something that looks more appropriate.

Wow! Love your Haqqislam, love your bases!
How do you do your eyes? Those Haqq eyes look lovely!
Also, I'm too voting for a little bit of weathering on the ambulance. Not necessarily much, just a little down the bottom and such.
Either way, great work!

I love your camo patterns, they look great! I'm a big fan of clear acrylic bases, I would use them myself except that I like to magnetize my bases for transport.
