Subject: Tomb Kings, Dark Elves and Lizardmen Finecast wave; also, O&G Plastic Blisters.
Settra ... 20,50 > 23,50 ... +15%
Khalida ... 8,20 > 9,50 ... +16%
SSC ... 22,50 > 24 ... +7%
Tomb Scorpion ... 13,80 > 15,50 ... +12%
Bone Giant ... 30,75 > 36 ... +17%
Carrion ... 9,75 > 22 (this better be a set of 2 for only a minor price increase, or 3 for a good saving)
Also listed: "Tomb Kings Tomb Heralds" for 23,50. There is currently only one set of this name, for 12,30. There has to be some serious change here.
Chakax ... 8,20 > 11 ... +34%
Kroak ... 25,50 > 30 ... +18%
Tiktaq'to ... 10,75 > 16 ... +49%
Slann ... 23,50 > 30 ... +28%
Skink with Feather Cloak ... 7,70 > 9,50 ... +23%
Saurus with Battle Standard ... 10,75 > 15 ... +40%
Salamander Pack ... 15,50 > 18,50 ... +19%
Razordon Pack ... 15,50 > 18,50 ... +19%
Terradon ... 10,75 > 31,50 (this seems to be a pack of 3: -3%)
Chameleon Skinks ... 8,70 > 15 (this better be a set of 5...)
Chameleon Stalker ... 6,15 > 8 +30%
Kroxigor ... 13,80 > 31,50 (this seems to be a pack of 3: -24%)
Note: these are FC re-releases. All prices in pound sterling. All increase percentages based on the previous price, and mathematically rounded.
One thing of note: my complaint that the Raging Heroes Blood Vestals are more expensive than their GW counterparts is no longer true. A 67% price hike will do that.

I just looked up the Heralds, and it's likely not going to be a change.
It's a set of both a mounted/dismounted figure and we tend to see dumb pricing when mounted figures are involved (Yes, Blood Knights. I was looking at you).

Wow, 67% price increase for the same ugly black guard sculpts, and now in hole-ridden Finecast? I guess they thought some people out there might still want to buy Dark Elves gak some day and thought they better put a stop to that.
Not that I play WHF anyway since 8th is a steaming pile, but I definitely wouldn't bother until all this crap comes out in plastic. Which at the rate they've been doing could take up to a decade or more.

Gee. It's almost like they're shifting their manufacturing process from one medium to another.
It's almost like they might finally be running down in terms of stock of the metals they had.
Oh. And before you comment:
I'm not saying the price rise is justifiable nor a good move. But of course they're shifting their production lines to Finecast.

I don't think you have any clue what you're talking about.
Within the past few years alone, off of the very tip top of my head:
Plastic Black Knights, Cairn Wraiths, Banshees, and a new Zombie Dragon.
A plastic Ogre Scraplauncha.
Plastic High Elf Phoenix Guard, White Lions, and Dragon Princes.
That is--of course--not including the various single frame plastic characters we've seen made available

Yeah, to our detriment.

And in the past 5-6 years, Dark Elves got...a dragon. That's it.
There's new gak coming out all the time, but I was talking specifically about DE. It could realistically be another 5-10 years before these models come out in plastic.

The Dark Elves got (admittedly not at the same time) the Dragon, Cold One Knights, Corsairs and a Sorceress.
There's also the hideous Chaos Manticore model which has the rider separate from the mount which could be used in a Dark Elf force...but I'd say avoid it like the plague personally.
As to your second point:
Okay, and? The Dark Elves book came out before they really started implementing this "multiple waves" system and this idea that it was better to do a big, complete overhaul of a book than it was to change a few things and call it a day.
I would not be surprised to see with the next Dark Elf book a plastic Black Guard/Executioner combined kit, a new plastic set of Warriors, and a plastic Witch Elf set.

Just picked up the old Morathi, some blackguard, and harpies in good ole fashioned inexpensive metal. I am done collecting DE, now just need to get some painting done.

What again was your point? Oh, and The Hive tyrant was rereleased in Finecast before getting a plastic model after less than a year. Remember: Making Finecast moulds was done because they are almost a copy of the metal moulds.
BTW this finecast wave is scheduled for June

While the price hikes are always annoying, I'm personally glad to see a finecast Slann (although I'd MUCH rather see a plastic one). The metal Slann on the flying base was a joke, since it snapped off to a stern glance. I could never get the metal rod I've been using to work right either.
The Saurus BSB and terradons, while cool models, were a PITA in metal. At the very least I'll probably be picking up a finecast Slann.

GW prices are not done by actual costs (resin is cheaper than metal), but by what GW thinks would be the highest acceptable price for buyers, as you should know by now And by acceptable they mean 10% less sales compensated by a 10% price hike.

Pretty much this. They'll continue to raise prices as long as they believe their bottom line stays the same, which is a horrid way to do business because it is monopoly like behavior.

To be honest, I just ebay my stuff or buy from Reaper or Mantic instead nowadays, no big deal that GW is raising prices again, since so few people seem to buy from them online anymore

Wow, they raised the basic squad half boxes to match the command. Obviously the fact the average player will buy two-three standard boxes to the one command means little now.
Crazy pricing, we better see some elite go plastic when they get their next update or I'll be not coming back to Fantasy for a long, long time.

TBH, I thought Sid was talking about plastics, Kroot.
Even if he talked about Dark Elf plastic kits released first week of July 2011, he would be wrong. And presenting the Dark Elves as a neglected race and then forgetting about their latest armybook release is ... odd. Wood Elves on the other side ...

Indeed I was, but apparently I forgot the DE release happened in 2008...which is nearly 4 years so I don't think I was that far off.
And as far as all the other releases go, I don't really "count" bs like blisters or metal (now Finecast) releases/re-releases. As far as actual plastic kits go, DE got two of them back in 2008, then the dragon and sorc last year. The point was that at that rate it'll be years yet before they get any more plastic kits.

They get new plastic kits next year. So I still don't get your point.
There is no fixed rate. Dark Elf plastics have been in the works for some time, so with an easy fix to the armybook will be released to bring DE to the average plastic level.
Wood Elves haven't got a release for 7 years (about double the tim since DE armybook) and won't for quite some time. Guess GW has no inspiration on how to make WE playable in 8th edition.

DE 6th-7th took about 7 years. TK 6-8th took 8. WE 6-current turned 6 years last September, Dwarves have been waiting 6 years as of January, and Brettonians have been waiting for 8 years as of February.
Sadly, with rumors pointing to DE, WoC, and possibly Dwarves being next after Empire, Bretts could be waiting 9 years or more before their turn is given. In fact, I fully expect HE will get a book before Brets or WE do. The most insulting part to me really is the number of books that got 7e releases that are already getting 8e books. But hey, you're right. It is sad how little support DE gets. I mean sure, DE ONLY* got their really powerful army book, but WE and Bret players get splash releases for their armies ALL THE TIME.
*(And certainly no models that became the byword for broken in 7th ed)

Good news. This is the best time in the hobby. Full of promise. GW lets us down each time and we know it but secretly we're hoping that this is the edition that GW gives us a balanced game that can also be played competitively at tournaments. I'm loving it.

In June we will also get these two new releases:
89-12 Goblin Shaman $9.90
89-13 Savage Orc Big Boss $14.00
Number suggests plastic blisters. (Faeslayer over at Warseer posted this froma shop's facebook page)
