BOO! Its samhain time y'all!

What are your promises for the Painting and Modeling deities this month?

For me its to get some of my Dark Angels stuff built... specifically 3 tac squads complete with magnetized special weapon, heavy weapon, and sergeant models. This also includes their transport options: Rhino/razorbacks and drop pods.

I have a 4-point Saga army of Normans I want to have done before November. And there really is no reason I can't get it done.

Well, i just started a P&M blog (link in the sig - check it out).
I want to get some painted mini's in that. Specifically, for this month, 2 full bike squads, 5 scouts and a biker captain.

Thats 17 bikes, 2 attack bikes and 5 scouts. I think that's a good target.

- finish two plasma cannon marines (75% done)
- finish three heavy bolter marines (75% done)
- prep, magnetize and paint 3 centurions

time and resources permitting, I may start work on two small squads of legion of the damned. that's likely for next month, though, as I suspect the cents will take some work to get everything fully magnetized.

My Vows for October

- Finish DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMRIDER (60% done)
- Finish 1 land raider (imperial fist) (100% done)
- Finish 2 tactical squads (imperial fist) (10% done)
- Finish 1 Missile Dev squad (imperial fist) (20% done)
- Start acquiring house escher gang for chaos cultists. (80% done) (need two more models for 10man squad)

Should be doable

Finish my SU-57s
Assemble and magnetise barrels for 10 ISU 122/152s and an IS-2, and paint them all.
Build and paint 4 Panzer IVs (one destroyed) and make a scenic base for the destroyed one.

Might get out my Kroot and see what I need to do to complete them. I almost had them finished before getting distracted by other things.

That's probably enough goals.

I will have all my new warmachine stuff fully painted before it goes on the tabletop.

Should be easy month, but I am also not going to overstretch my goals like I tend to.

1) Finish basing my Black Water Gulch Gangs (all but 5 get sand, those 5 just need some pinning)
2) Prime the "To Prime" Box (BWG, dreadfleet, top of a bastion, and 2 sentinels)
3) Begin next project (vague for a reason)

Since I apparently overreached last month. I'm going to keep it simple. If I can finish priming and base coating 30 tac marines, I'll consider it good. If I can start painting one ten man tac squad, I'll consider it going over and above.

Out of zombie Marines... gonna paint all four 80s knight sabers,and then an uundisclosed amount of space marines. I'll get back to you on that... still sorting out the new codex.

With my supply of yellow spray paint now established, I will be painting as many imperial fists as I can! My to do list is:

10 tac marines (50% done)
10 tac marines
20 devestators
10 bikes
2 rhino/razorbacks

With a couple of afternoons uninterrupted painting time, I think I can get them done, but I also started converting some of my Tau battlesuits. Call me a hobby butterfly, but I want to get them finished, all the holes filed in and on nice bases by the end of the month.

Also because I've had it for ages, I've got to paint a 1/48 scale Panzer III and I was going to do it in 21st panzer colours and desert camo, lets see how far I get

Finish painting blood angels terminators and paint my a blood angels razorback. Anything on top of that will be a bonus. Haha!

I'm going to have to modify my October vow. I've spent the few days this months I've been able to hobby still trying to scrape paint off models that have primer and paint coming off them. Apparently I didn't do a very good job getting all the old paint and Dawn Power Dissolver off the old models. So all of those models are going into Simple Green for a few weeks. I'm going to build a ten man tac squad from a new box. And that is my goal for the rest of this month.

Well I didn't get all of my ISU-122/152s completed. They're base coated at least.
I had to wait for Battlefront to ship me a couple of replacement tracks because a two from one of the ISU boxsets were wrong.
Good customer service, unfortunately postage takes time, especially when customs decides to open the package.

I did, however, paint a nice manly pink IS-2 while I waited.

ran out of time on my centurions. so. many. magnets. painting is about 85% complete and finishing them will roll over into next month's vows.

Well, my P&M blog is going well, so there's that.

As for the bikes... not quite there...
I completed the Biker Captain, 5 Scouts and 6 bikes. Maybe I was setting unrealistic targets. But I did complete 2 Masters of the Chapter too, I should probably account for side-tracks

*sigh* I am bad at goals. I should have known work was going to be hectic and just not had planned for anything

1) All but 1 model is on a base now (she needs some GSing on her foot). Never got the sand on them (I could do that tonight?!)
2) Didn't do that either. I prime at work and I was too worn our there to prime there.

And I did it. I put together one ten man squad from the new tac squad box. Plus one extra somehow.
