Hey guys,

Sooo after deciding to get back into the hobby and then the headache of choosing an army i finally chose to start a Grey Knights army. Although im sure there is many reasons as to why i shouldnt have (considering the new codex changed things up a bit) but i have wanted a GK army for sometime and am stoked to finally be building them!

I already have a bunch of models but have only started painting them today!

Also any tips on improving my photos would be great!

This is the test model i just painted and im kinda happy with it, only want to chance a few minor things:

I really like the green! Different enough without overpowering the grey. Looking forward to seeing more.

Thanks Warboss! Im going to paint each squad with different color energy. One to make them stand out and two to symbolize all the different powers of the warp!

I changed his shoulder pad as well as i thought it looked more like a mess then OSL.

Question is, do i weather/chip or leave them looking "new"

Any ideas on what would look better?

I would paint up more of them to the standard you have rather than weather them. I've ruined more than one model by trying to weather it after I've finished painting to a quality standard. I think weathering should be something taken into consideration before any paint goes on a model, personally. Also, aren't the Grey Knights supposed to have the best maintenance of any space marine force? I wouldn't think their armor and gear would have a chance to get battle damaged.

That was my first thought of "the best" second is the image of "purity" they are to have no chinks in their armor both figuratively and I think literally = it is a sin.

I take my cues from the model pieces showing "movement".

The tabard shows a shift to the right, I would have tried to aim the gun up a bit and have the head look in the direction the gun is aiming (but slightly higher). To make it look like he shifted quickly to aim up.

Edging is done very well.

Looks like shoulder pads and backpack vents need sprue trimming cleaned up a bit better.

Really cannot critique much further: painted to a good standard.

Looks great! I really like the off-white shoulder pad.

Thanks bud. I completely agree. I got 2 5 man squads of these off eBay, and since they were basecoated and shaded i thought id just give them a quick paint job to get them on the table! Not to mention the fact that strike squads kinda suck now apparently.....

Thanks Warboss! i thought it would help make the red stand out a bit better and balance the colours on the model a bit.

Iv nearly finished painting the first squad so more pics up soon. Then time to paint the dreadknight
