Rob Sanders did a fairly good job with Skitarius and Tech Priest, but it is annoying seeing all the name dropping that was likely mandated from above.
Enigma of Flesh I really liked.
Clade and Infinite Circuit were pretty unmemorable.

I know what you mean. That has definitely been noticeable of late. The AoS novella was pretty egregious with it at least early on. I have liked Sanders other work so will most likely grab those.

Thanks.

Rebellion in thirteen parts15/08/15
A world in peril. Traitors everywhere. Twenty-four hours to save the planet. Just another day for Space Marines, you might think. But for the masters of the Doom Eagles Chapter, the day of the Tranzia Rebellion will prove to be one they remember... if they survive. Because there's something more behind this uprising, something that threatens far more than just one world...

That's the set-up for Black Library's first radio play, a style of audio that eschews narration in favour of providing the setting entirely through dialogue and sound design. It's in thirteen parts (with twelve nail-biting, edge-of-the-seat cliffhangers), which are now available in a great value collection for the first time, exclusive to the Black Library website. Download it now to experience all two hours of this epic story.

The White Scars ride to war (again)16/08/15
The Khan's sons ride! The White Scars speed into action on the war-torn world of Armageddon in a new hardback novella set on the war-torn world of Armageddon. 'Dante's Canyon', by veteran White Scars author Josh Reynolds, puts the children of Chogoris in an unusual situation – rather than taking the fight to their foes from their bikes across the ash wastes, they're forced into defending the civilian crew of a remote mining facility. And that's not all... the company's Stormseer (like a Librarian in other Chapters, but with more lightning involved) has had a vision of the future that hinges on one of his brothers surviving this battle. Seems easy – Space Marines are pretty hard to kill, after all. But when this particular brother is a reckless, vainglorious warrior with a death wish, the Stormseer's task may be that much harder...

Find out if he succeeds by getting your hands on a copy of 'Dante's Canyon', which you can pre-order now. Or if you really can't wait, you can download the eBook straight away and get right into the action.

Inside the Bloodbound...17/08/15
The Mandrake Bastion has fallen. But the war is just beginning. Following on from last month's first instalment, the next part of the epic tale of the Black Rift of Klaxus has arrived. 'In the Walls of Uryx' sees the Stormcast Eternals delving into the darkness of the city of Uryx as they seek their foe, Anhur, Mighty Lord of Khorne. But that's not all, as you'll also get an insight into the inner workings of Anhur's Khorne Bloodbound forces, and the infighting that ensures only the mightiest of champions get to face their foe... Find out more in the digital pages of 'In the Walls of Uryx', which you can download now.

Your Summer of Reading starts here17/08/15
It's summer, and that means holidays. Whatever you're doing this summer, whether it's an action-packed adventure break, a sun-soaked beach odyssey or just taking some time to relax at home, a few good stories to read are the perfect accompaniment. Well, we say a few... how about seven?

Seven tales of brutal war, desperate heroism and gory action await you in the Summer of Reading 2015. Every day from now until Sunday, there'll be a new Warhammer 40,000 or Horus Heresy Quick Read, ready to brighten up your day even more than the sun (or in the case of the typical British summer, in the absence of the sun...). It starts today with 'The Cost of Command', a new tale by Sandy Mitchell, author of the Ciaphas Cain series. He's turned his attentions to Imperial heroes of a different sort, as the Space Marines of the Astral Knights (before they were all wiped out attacking the World Engine) take the stage in a tale of lost honour and a duel to the death...

You can buy 'The Cost of Command' and each of the other six stories individually as they are released across the week, but the best way to enjoy all seven stories is with the Summer of Reading 2015 subscription. Not only does this ensure that you'll have each story added to your Black Library account as soon as it's released, but it delivers a fantastic saving, netting you all seven stories for the price of five. That's right, you get two of the Quick Reads absolutely free. Keep an eye on the app for the rest of the week to find out more about each day's stor, and follow the link below to head to the subscription page and secure your week of new reads.

Horus Heresy: The Honoured by Rob Sanders

In the immediate aftermath of the Word Bearers' attack on Calth, survivors from both sides were driven into the subterranean arcology shelters by the tortured Veridian star. While their primarch Roboute Guilliman had planned for many seemingly unthinkable eventualities, the Ultramarines now face a new war in the underworld - could Steloc Aethon, renowned captain of 'the Honoured' 19th Company, be the one to lead them to ultimate victory over the traitors? Perhaps, if he can master his own bitter desire for vengeance...
- Horus Heresy: The Unburdened by David Annandale

Long considering themselves persecuted by the rest of the Imperium, the apostles of the XVIIth Legion have courted sedition, betrayal and even open heresy for decades. But for Kurtha Sedd of the Third Hand Chapter, the Word Bearers' assault on Calth has proven... troubling. Drawn into the haunted shadows of the planet's underworld, the Chaplain and his devout brethren must now put aside all other concerns and continue to wage war against the Ultramarines, no matter the ultimate cost.

- The Last Phoenix, the second HH Omnibus:

The Horus Heresy continues in this omnibus, with the fall of the III Legion to Chaos. The novels Fulgrim and Angel Exterminatus serve as a chronicle of Fulgrim’s corruption, while The Crimson Fist, The Reflection Crack’d and many other tales from the New York Times bestselling series reveal the true extent of his damnation.

and some more info from the same source :

Predator, Prey

After centuries of peace, the Imperium is thrown into panic as human worlds everywhere are menaced by orks. In a relentless tide of slaughter, ork attack moons destroy planet after planet with gravity weapons of unstoppable power. On Terra, the High Lords are paralysed by the scale of the threat, and fail to take any effective action. With entire Space Marine Chapters missing, or known to have been wiped out, does anyone have the will and the power to rise to the Imperium’s defence?

The Emperor Expects

As ork ships lay waste to world after world, heading inexorably towards Terra, Imperial citizens despair. The High Lords become desperate to prove that victory is possible, no matter the cost. A massive Navy fleet is assembled – their mission to make a definitive strike against the orks at Port Sanctus, an area of enemy-held space. But when the Imperial armada arrives, they find themselves outclassed and outmanoeuvred – can human courage and faith possibly prevail against such terrible odds?

The Last Wall

Despite the Imperium’s best attempts to forestall the ork plague that is wrecking havoc in human space, an ork attack moon now hangs over Terra. As its malevolent presence gazes down at the Imperial Palace, terrified citizens run riot in the streets. In a last-ditch attempt to destroy the attack moon, a proletarian crusade is launched. Thousands of ships large and small head to the moon carrying billions of citizens, all eager to take the fight to the enemy. It seems the attack has a chance of success as the invasion force lands safely, but the orks have yet to spring their trap...

Throneworld

The Imperium’s situation has never been more grim – an ork attack moon hangs over Terra, and ork armadas ravage human space. To make matters even worse, eldar strike at the heart of the Imperial Palace, forcing humanity’s defenders to fight on two fronts at once. Though it seems nothing can stop the orks – neither brute force, science, nor faith – an unlikely alliance in the furthest reaches of space uncovers the first clue how to defeat the greenskins. The Adeptus Astartes now face an almost impossible task - taking news of this discovery back to Terra through a galaxy teaming with orks.

Oddly enough no artwork for book one of the above series -- "I am Slaughter" by Dan Abnett.

Also got End Time omnibuses -- novels + related short stories.

Covers on the ork series books are pretty cool.

..... course most BL releases tend to run alongside Design Studio releases too recently yeah .... ?

That Fulgrim omnibus seems interesting, have they done a HH omnibus already with the first three novels?

Bit of digging on Amazon seems to suggest The Honoured and The Unbound will be novels - bit annoying if they are that we're jumping back to Calth.

I believe they're 200-240 odd pages.

Despite what Amazon says i reckon they'll be hardback.

Interesting, puts them too short for a novel and too long for one of their novellas though?

Just want to see them pick up the pace a bit now.

ABOUT THIS BOOK
Space Marine Legends: Ragnar Blackmane will be released on Friday the 28th of August. To be among the first to know when it goes on sale, set your reminder now.

THE STORY
Ragnar Blackmane is a legend of the Space Wolves, the youngest warrior ever to rise to command a Great Company. As he battles the forces of Abaddon the Despoiler on the war-ravaged world of Cadia, Ragnar remembers the events that brought him to this place and time, and relates two great sagas from his past, each bringing him into conflict with brother Space Marines from other Chapters, the secretive Dark Angels and savage Flesh Tearers. As these tales influence the events of the present, Ragnar comes to realise that his past actions have consequences...

READ IT BECAUSE
We've seen Ragnar Blackmane as a young Blood Claw before, but this is the first time we get to see him in action in all his Wolf Lord-ly glory! It's a fascinating look at the Space Wolves' relations with other Chapters as well, with both their old rivals, the Dark Angels, and the equally savage and bad-tempered Flesh Tearers turning up.

Agreed. I thought Ghazgull's WAAAGH! was supposed to be the biggest Ork WAAAGH! since the Great Crusade... and was stopped at a single world, yet this WAAAGH! has thrown the entire IoM into disarray and nearly destroyed Terra, which is probably the most heavily fortified system in the entire IoM... yeah.... Not to mention the Warboss in one of the cover pictures looks very similar to Ghaz.

Also interesting how they have a different author for each of the books.

It does seem waaaaaay over the top.

Especially this one:

The Imperium’s situation has never been more grim – an ork attack moon hangs over Terra, and ork armadas ravage human space. Given the damage this would mean would have to have already taken place, this would really by the end of the Imperium.

So...are they advancing the storyline, finally, then?

Almost

1. Ghazghkull's Great Waaagh! is supposed to be the biggest for eight thousand years, specifically since the Beast.
2. Ghazghkull's Great Waaagh! is the one he started AFTER Armageddon, in GW's typical a-minute-before-midnight fashion. Like Abaddon's permanently interrupted 13th Black Crusade, universal Necron Awakening, All-Tyranids-so-far-are-but-a-tiny-vanguard-theories, the whole point is that it seemingly a minute or so before Orks wipe out humanity.

Da Great Waaagh! is an ongoing Ork campaign launched by Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka.[1] It is the largest Ork Waaagh! encountered in eight thousand years,[2] on a scale not seen since the great Waaagh! of The Beast.

So I haven't been bothered keeping up with the novellas, digital short stories, the HH series, or well... anything BL lately at all.

But is there any recent stuff from Abnett? I haven't seen a release date for the next books in his Eisenhorn or Ghosts series.
