Boy howdy if that ain't some fine looking CGI.
I'm willing to give the guy a pass on his writing, seeing as how his visual art skills are over 9000.
The voice acting I thought was kinda cool despite the odd pacing. I like that at least one of the VA's has an accent that isn't American or British.

I don't expect an improvement in the voice acting itself, but I think a native English speaker should help him out with the script.. there are a few instances of err... questionable dialogue.

Im one of the artists helping out Erasmus with this project, I started a new thread to hopefully help answer some of these questions but it got locked (since this one is already rolling). I can assure you we will be doing some voice changes and in the final short film, the voice quality will not take away from the visuals but will be just as fitting and impactful as the cg itself. We appreciate all the support the community has given us, spread the word!

Well the english language did undergo 38.000 years of evolution, I think some weird sounding dialogue is to be expected if you read things that were written not 200 years ago .
Seriously though, my main worry is with the animation. When I look at his team all I see is modellers, which explains the high quality of stuff we've seen up until now. Animators, however, are nowhere to be seen, which shows in the animated scenes. The static stuff and stuff that requires only simple sliding animation (the shot of the artifact in the rain, the burning ship from a moving vehicle) look awesome, the actually animated parts (walking inquisitor, Grey Knights firing stuff) not so much. It's all very, very stiff.
Now I don't want to jump to conclusions, it's very much possible that the site only displays part of the team and certain the stiff animation will get brushed up, but I think the main guy might be taking on too much by himself.

The 'sound quality' issue is something we can better provide a solution for than a wall of complaint. Have you/we considered asking Dakka for voice sound samples.
I am willing to lend a voice to the project if needs be and don't think I am alone in this. We are not actors sure, but we could provide background voices if nothing else.
If the dev gives us an idea of what accent types he wants he might get the voice samples he is needing.

It looks like the exact opposite of Ultramarine--stunning CGI visuals with horrible voice acting .
Seriously, tremendous kudos to the team--the lighting and CGI look pretty damn impressive. I'm not too concerned about the voice acting/audio--as that can easily be improved upon and refined. I'll be looking forward to the release fellas.

Sorry for the thread necro on this topic but some interesting things have developed on the movie...The maker put things on hold so he could contact GW to get there approval... GW's response was rather...suprising...
http://www.thelordinquisitor.com/blog/start-2012/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=facebook&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+TheLordInquisitor+%28The+Lord+Inquisitor%29&utm_content=FaceBook
-----
Hi Guys,
I hope you had a nice christmas and a cool beginning for this year You all know the project is currently on “hold” and so I had a lot of time to think about Lordi from time to time and develop new ideas and things like that Of course I also already thought that Lordi is doomed because of the rules of Games Workshop, but it seems that the wheel has changed
Shortly before Christmas I finally got an answer and it was more than positive To be honest I think I had the biggest smile in my face in the year 2011 I will not post any mails in my blog as this is a private conversation between GW and me, but what I can tell you is that GW loves Lordi and everything what me and my team created. So GW really wants to see this project finished and they want me to have a kind of license that allows me to make non commercial Warhammer 40.000 movies. I mean, how cool is that? I never thought that GW would be so cool to this project and this is beyond my expectations – now I don’t have to hide anymore with this project, but can look in a proper future for Lordi.
However GW told me that this is a promise for now only and they can not guarantee me that this really becomes true. They have to see for themselfes if that is possible legally with their IP. But they want to get this through and Im optimisitc that this will work So we still need to cross our fingers, but it looks really really good for The Lord Inquisitor
This of course raised my motivation to a new level haha With the official approval by GW I can hopefully gain a much bigger team to make a much better movie in the same amount of time. As I said I need Technical Directors and animators and such. I got new plans in my mind and definetely need a good story/plot writer who works closely with me together. If I find enough people who want to support my vision and to make the first non profit and 100% passionate Warhammer 40k movie I want to make this film longer to tell a much bigger story If I dont have to animate all the characters, facial animation and so this could be easily done as rendering times seems to be no big problem – I rendered the whole trailer on one workstation with approx. 15min per frame. That is all possible as I almost used no global illumination and other fancy time consuming effects.
So what’s next? Of course I still got to wait for the next reply of GW, and if this will turn out as expected I will post a more detailed list of people I need, a job description so to say I try to put that online permanently on this site, so that everyone can see if I still need some help in specific areas. This can turn out really great and the whole community can see this film grow and prosper and also have influence of the production. So regarding the usual workflow here of me posting images and you writing comments and me again changing all the mistakes I made nothing will change
Yeah that’s it so far, I think this can’t be a better start for 2012 and the future of Torquemada Coteaz and his Grey Knights
Best regards,
Erasmus
