More on the ink. You don't have any trouble running that thru your Air Brush?

Thanks Solar Lion and wolfmaster1234.

None at all - inks are the perfect consistency for airburshing. I don't even have to thin them down. They are also way easier to clean up.

Quick WIP update on my Centurions. Did a 2 step pic with the first showing the units primed and airbrushed with highlights and shadows followed by blacked out details and metallics. Next step is to gloss/dull varnish the models and then do the metallics.

Really appreciate the two photos egg. I've got some of these to do myself and the in-process shots will be very helpful.

Egg I love this new batch of beauty! that speeder is to die for (if you're an enemy of the imperium) and the two Sang priests are simply EPIC! makes me want to actually have a go at painting my jump pack and Termie Apoth :-)

looking forward to seeing those Cents done, I don't personally like the model but I do like seeing how people tackle them.

NP. I need to do more WIP photos though I usually forget as I'm too into the painting process. I'll try and take a few more shots of these guys as I do them. Looking forward to seeing your take on them soon

The Priests are lovely! The process for the white is interesting, I think it's come out really nice - possibly better than if you'd just started from white - looks deeper and more realistic! Do you airbrush the red parts separately when you do a model that's predominantly another colour? Only crit is the power fist looks a bit plain being all red... Maybe the thin panel with the rivets between the main body and the fingers could be picked out in metallic?

Centurions looking promising. Good call leaving off the outer armour plates!

Thanks Luther! Yes- the red parts are airbrushed separately. The jet packs as done as another piece and the arms I just mask off. Looking back at the power fist, you're absolutely right on it being a bit too plain. Never though about picking out the fingers in metallic before and will give that a shot in my next PF SM. Should give it more contrast. Thanks for the suggestion!

Quick update on my centurions. Progress has been slow but I was able varnish gloss/matte and then finish off the main metallics and airbrush them for shading.

Hey egg, I haven't looked at my guys yet, are those metal supports across the shoulders on the model or is that something you added?

It's all full stock Gits! It's amazingly detailed model and a shame they get covered up with all those boring armor plates. One of the main reasons I decided to leave them off.

Cool... I think I'll definitely go your route. I suppose they had to excuse the 2+ saving throw somehow...

Mostly, on my phone.

Very nice indeed. The oily blue metal is very tasty and there's lots of good glow. I like the contrasting green, too, although it's perhaps a wee bit similar to the green on the laurels (though that may be the pics?) Lovely version of a silly model, too

Thanks! I think I might have gone a bit too blue on the metals for the guy with the heavy bolter. Need to darken it a bit more like the other too. I see what you mean about the green. I did the small details first and then left the OSL till last so never though about how it would clash. Looking back, I should have done it in a different colour such as white or yellow. Good feedback!

Thanks nerdy! I actually ordered two boxes of these units so I plan on building and painting the other unit stock with all the armor for my ever growing collection.

Well I found this thread and sat all evening reading through every page and admiring the amazing pictures of your beautiful blood angels army. I am blown away by the quality and scale of the force. Do you have a final goal in mind for this force? Also a huge thank you for all the posts and pics, its clearly been lots of hard work but the results are mind blowing. Reading your blog has truly inspired me to push on with my own little project and hope that one day it might be close to as wonderful an army as yours is.

Thanks Brother Ectus! Always great to hear feedback like yours and helps keep me motivated to keep painting and posting my work. Don't have a final goal in mind, I just collect and paint. Right now my unpainted stuff is still more than what I have painted. I recently took a 2 year break from painting to focus on finish off my grad degree but I'm back at it now. I didn't stop buying and collecting during that time and since GW released more SM models, my backlog has gotten bigger and bigger. I hope to one day have the titans (1 lucious, 1 mars, 1 reaver) and the thunderhawk also added. I've also been buying FW pre-heresy models as well so I've got a lifetime of painting Anyway, always glad to give inspiration to the community and all the best on your own project.

Here's a quick phone cam pic of my two detolfs with my BA army:

Alright, no painting progress recently but I did discover a little tip I want to pass along to my fellow Canadian dakka members. Right now, Canadian Tire has a sale on these aluminum "tool" cases for $25 (down from $35). http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/aluminum-tool-case-with-strap-0580916p.html#.UuhUmxDTlaQ

They make perfect mini transport or storage cases as they're durable, light weight, lockable, and come with pluck foam! I ended up buying 3 of these which I might use to transport my tanks around for a grand total of $75 which is a steal compared to KR or Battlefoam.

Case Exterior (Colour is more a gun metal):

Case Interior (with tool insert, pluck foam, dividers, lock keys and shoulder strap):

Case with Vindicator for scale:

Case is on sale till the 30th so hurry up if you want one!

And to Canadian Tire I go!
