If you reserve online then you can focus on the new stuff and don't have to worry about getting the stuff you want, as it's already paid for and waiting for you
I'm gonna turn up, head straight for the sales stand for stuff you can't reserve and get loadsa that stuff, then head around and take photos/talk to people

Necron Night Shroud Bomber



The Night Shroud is a dedicated bomber that is larger than the more numerous Night Scythe and Doom Scythe craft, alongside which it operates, whose origins date back countless aeons to the lost battles of the War in Heaven.

The Night Shroud was built to carry a relic of that ancient and apocalyptic conflict, so-called Death Spheres, containment vessels that imprison the merest fragment of anti-matter. The Death Sphere's potent warhead is kept out of phase with the material universe until the sphere detonates, when it unleashes an energy blast capable of annihilating anything it touches.

The Necron Night Shroud Bomber, designed by Daren Parrwood, is an imposing battlefield presence. This complete resin and plastic kit is packed with detail, and its sinister, elongated profile makes for an impressive centrepiece or painting project for any Necrons collection. Full rules and background for this construct will be included in the forthcoming Imperial Armour – Volume Twelve: The Fall of Orpheus.

Realm of Battle Necron Tomb Citadel



The stasis-crypts of the Necrons are protected by great defensive structures; near-impregnable fortifications designed to stand against the ravages of eternity, hostile action and deadly environments. Tomb Citadels often stand on the outermost borders of a wider complex. They act as watchtowers and outposts that are often the merest tip of the iceberg; the fathomless depths of silent galleries and stasis-chambers that make up the nameless cities of the Necrons extending far below them.

A Tomb Citadel is far more than an inert relic of strange aeons past, however. Each is a near-living war machine in its own right, and Imperial combat records record these brutish structures rising from the very earth, or phasing strangely into existence in the midst of a Necron assault. If not quickly destroyed, these dread ziggurats will form a beachhead from which the undying legions pour forth to destroy their foes.

The Realm of Battle Necron Tomb Citadel, designed by Blake Spence, is a 2' x 2' (609mm x 609mm) tile which can fit onto a Citadel Realm of Battle board. Packed with detail, the stepped levels of the Tomb Citadel allow infantry and vehicles to be placed and moved upon it, and multiple tiles can be fitted together to create larger fortifications and complexes. The narrow passages between the monolithic structures and the vantage points gained from the higher levels can make for a tense and exciting game.

Been thinking of building necrons, although it goes against my desire to stay away from GW. Does anybody with experience with the FW battle boards know if the larger structures are hollow or not. It might make the difference of buying on as hollow structure could allow for lights and other goodness.

I have always wondered, are the FW boards the same height as the normal boards?

Previous FW boards have always blended in seamlessly with the GW ones so I don't see why the Necron ones would be any different.

Speaking of the board, I really like it. Not enough that I would actually buy the thing as I would be more likely to commission one (I think Terraformer on Dakka built a really good one a few years back).

Great to see some xenos terrain.

Nicely painted too though the orange seems a strange choice, green would have been better.

Looking forward to what they release alongside the new book. Necrons are looking better all the time.

The FW boards usually fit although they are prone to warping like the rest of their stuff. They are also "hollow" with criss-crossing bits underneath like the regular plastic RoB boards. I've no idea on how difficult it will be to work with the buildings to introduce electronics. The boards are amazingly expensive, however, and this is the only xenos one so far.

Anyone hear anything on show models for this year? I thought we had seen them by this point in the past.

Forge World have said on their FB page they will unveil the special minis just before the event, so i would put that as about a week before so you're still looking at the end of March before they announce them.

First FW boards were warped and shrunk, so didn't fit without major plasticard repairs.
Not sure if FW quality control became better on that issue.

I am tempted to buy a couple...but, after literally spending thousands with FW over the years, I think I may be done with them.

Why? Because it would have been incredibly easy for them to put any of the FW tau models into the new tau dex.

Even if they were different units/stats/names - I don't care, just put the models I have funded the shareholders dividends with into the book.

Of course you do. When you start a game you show your opponent your army, and there's an implied "will you play against this?" involved. Your opponent can choose to play against it, or refuse. And saying "but it's in the codex" doesn't make even the slightest difference*, an opponent who doesn't like crisis suits can refuse to give you permission to use them just like someone who doesn't like Barracudas can.

*Unless you're playing in an event with a codex-only house rule, but house rules aren't GW's problem.

I don't see anything overtly Egyptian in that terrain piece, the flier, or the tomb stalker from a few years back, so that's probably a good bet.

All this Horus Heresy stuff is lovely and all.....but I'm still waiting for an Iron Warriors Legion Contemptor and a Perturabo model.

Even thoguh I've shelved my chaos army these could possible force my wallet open again.

That bomber isn't bad, but it certainly isn't $100 not-bad. For that amount of money, a fair-to-middlin' modeller could easily convert from plasticard and various Necron bits (which, if one didn't have them, could be purchased for not too much.)

I remember hearing sometime back that Necrons were due to get the Imperial Armour/ForgeWorld treatment. Was pretty excited that I might actually see something cool enough to justify paying the FW premium (since 'Crons are my main army.) If this is the kind of thing that they'll be producing, it seems that won't be the case...

Necrons are going to be in IA12 (the next IA book) - whcih is also where you will find the rules for the new necron flyer.

Yep, there is a flier, the dragonflies, a new barge and something else that I cant remember right now.

Also in IA12 is space marines of the Minotaur flavour.

They will get 200 new units etc etc.

Legion MkIV Outrider Squadron



Outrider squadrons are mechanised Space Marine reconnaissance squads who take to the field of battle mounted on ruggedly-constructed ground bikes. Equipped with twin-linked bolters, often augmented with heavier firepower in the form of melta-guns, flamers or plasma guns, Outriders are used for rapid encirclement as well as hit-and-run attacks against targets of opportunity behind enemy lines. Their chief advantage is speed and mobility, their bikes enabling them to cover ground far faster than infantry, and to go where heavier vehicles cannot.

Designed by Phil Stutcinskas, the Legion MkIV Outrider Squadron contains three complete resin and plastic kits, allowing this potent Fast Attack option to be added to a Space Marine Legion force or fielded as a Bike Squadron in many Codex armies. Each model has two weapon options: twin-linked bolters, or plasma guns and they are fully customisable with our range of Space Marine and Legion accessories. Legion Support Weapon Sets


The Legiones Astartes are well equipped with the finest weapons that can be produced by the manufactoria of Mars – from energy weapons of arcane provenance to rotor cannons of comparatively recent design. The Legions concentrate these specialised weapons into Tactical Support Squads, allowing overwhelming firepower to be brought to bear against any enemy target.

Will Hayes has designed four new sets of detailed resin weapons. The Flamer Set, Melta Gun Set and Plasma Gun Set each contain ten weapons, while the Rotor Cannon Set contains five resin weapons, ammunition feeds and hoppers. To build a Legion Tactical Support Squad, using the rules in Betrayal, combine these weapon sets with our MkII, MkIII or MkIV Space Marine armour sets or MkII, MkIII or MkIV Legion armour sets.

I like the Plasmas and the Bikes. I already have the flamers and meltas from the older kit (flamer/melta/missile launcher), but they look good.

The Bikes are Bitchin'! I don't care much about the Necron RoB stuff, though.

Yeah...i'm sorta the same, Dave. The bikes aren't 'bad' but they're not special.

And I'll echo the "where's the next primarch" cry!?!
