I don't know how many of the additional resin KS packs are going to be available?

Bear in mind the plastics eventually are being done by the Plastic Soldier Company, who have done some absolutely tremendous work with 15mm and 20mm WW2 releases. The early pics of the Predator sprues they released looked very good, I don't think there is going to be that much detail lost over their resin equivalents.

The orange was the resin master for the plastics. There clearly will be some loss of detail in the plastics.

Yes of course, I suppose it comes down to exactly how much is 'some' and 'not much' !

The point I was hoping to make is that, in the hands of PSC, going off their other plastic releases you can have confidence that it's probably going to be as good as you can hope for with plastic, even if it isn't going to be quite up there with the resin for detail.

I'm assuming there might also be some concessions in terms of the production limits of plastic (undercuts and the like). But, the positive side will be a reduced preparation time to get the game ready to play, which should help serve its function as (primarily) a board game.

With 10+ pieces per plastic predator, the 'reduced prep time' isn't going to be reduced by much. I still think those are going to scare away much of the board game audience.

I overheard a guy from Prodos saying that the tabletop rules will be pretty similar to those of Warzone Resurrection (i.e. share the same basic mechanics). Perhaps someone else could comment on how good those are?

Not sure yet with the board game, maybe it's copied from Space Hulk?

It's a D20 Roll under system with armor and weapon strength using a base 10 system (i.e. a power 11 weapon is -1 to armor, pow 12 is Minus 2, Pow 9 is +1 etc). Alternating squad activation. It can get more advanced with turn-to-burn card based resources that allow you to buy special active abilities and play tactical upgrades/strategy cards. I'm sure someone could explain it better, but that's the basics of it.

It's a great bit of fun. Lots of granular changes to squad load outs and sizes. Lots of room for custom games, make your own warlord, etc.

No wargames these days, more DM/Painting.

I paint things occasionally. Some things you may even like!

AvP is also supposed to have an "XP" system where models can be purchased as levels 1-5. Predators are upgraded individually (representing their individualistic nature), USCM are upgraded by squad (so you could have a level 1 Lieutenant leading a level 5 infantry squad ) and Aliens are upgraded army-wide (Hive intelligence).

The board game supposedly has elements of surprise with players using "ping" counters until you get visual contact, whereby you flip the counter and place the appropriate models.

All sounds cool to me. Hopefully it is!

That should not be too difficult. With the exception of maybe one predator model I think it will all eventually be released for retail. And if this release is any indication, you'll be able to preorder and get it shipped shortly after the KS folks have theirs shipped.

Yes.

Question I have is about the flyer. They had a Marine flyer out there for sale as a model, might have been AMT/Revel, might have been an offhand company. Does anyone know where to get one?

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

Halcyon, Konami, Aoshima have all made model kits for the drop ship. They are discontinued but are available on ebay quite frequently. Most of them are 1/72 from what I recall, it may take some digging but you'll want to find a 1/48 or 1/35 scale kit so it's closer to the miniatures. I know there a 1/48 kit out there somewhere but it's fairly expensive, there might also be toy versions available.

Are there news/rumors of upcoming releases?

I think that it is suffering due to Prodos concentrating on other things. Hopefully it will remain fully supported.

Actually, there is news. This comes from the Warzone Resurrection facebook page.

As the Warzone rages on, it's heroes have advanced in the field, their broad strokes of glory becoming bolder in every battle and thus ascending to near demi-god status.
First among those to ascend will be Alakhai the Cunning, Arch-Nepharite Overlord of Algeroth, Commander in Chief of the legions of the Apostle of War.

Alakhai Ascendant is released in July 2015, the first miniature of a range of Ascendant Warlords whose rules will be made available in a brand new supplemental PDF released soon from Prodos Games LTD.

Vote for Change! Vote for Alakhai!

Yeah things are ticking along pretty well with Warzone. Right before the tournament at the UK Games Expo last month there was a lot of work put into the Imperial force book which pretty much doubled in size and that was accompanied by a bunch of new models to support the additions to the book (the Wolfbanes, basically, plus the Grey Ghosts and Imperial Special Forces for MoW).

In addition to these new "epic" versions of the warlords that Barzam mentioned, we are also expecting a new revision to the main rulebook which should at the very least change the way Rapid Deployment works.

There was also talk of an armoured warfare / vehicle heavy book coming out but I'm not sure if that's something we are going to see in the immediate future.
