Lone Cat, I'm working towards a Heavy Infantry kit, the torso's and guns will be in the first release, I'm working on the heads and arms with epualettes to go with them. That will just leave legs. I'm not immeadiately planning on doing those as Cadian and similar 28mm heroic legs will do the job nicely, but its something I'll release later on.

However, Life Guard cavalry are also quite possible by replacing the Roughrider kit's torso with the Life Guard torso, and then adding the heads once available. Thats the reason I've got for components in the end rather then single mini's as I'd originally planned.

Siegg, thank you! There are a few tutorials on my blog, but not many, but I'll add to that in the future.

Viktor, as mentioned arms are on the way, which will just leave you short on legs, I will do though, but it may be a little while. The next few releases will probably be the heads, arms and a Gatling Gun with carriage and wheels, the later a work in progress of which is below, which I commissioned, will also be available seperately. There are other things also in the works though.

lil bit backstory on a 'revised' Praetorians. please
1. Materials that makes a pith helmet. is it still either hard leather, denim, iron/steel or any 'modern' ballistic polymer? the two latter materials provide protections against sharpnells (like Cadian helmets do) but anything else doesn't seem to protect wearer from it.
2. About gatlings. are they all handcrancked or powered (by external energy sources) like Miniguns?
3. engines that powers your armored units. will it be steam powered or internal combustion ones?
A. If it is steam engine. what are its purposed fuel? (wood, coal, or bunker fuel oil?)
B. If it is internal combustion ones. Are they spark-based system (like Gasoline engines) or are they Rudolf Diesel ones?

Viktor, yes I am Keep in mind this is very much work in progress though, but it will be part of my second wave releases.

Lone Cat, theres alot there I hav'nt thoguht about to be perfectly honest, and none in what little official material exists.

1 - I'd assume a modern ballistic material.

2 - My take is that there are many different versions, I did componse this a while back (http://colgravis.blogspot.com/2011/01/praetorian-mkiv-i-gatling-gun.html), with a downloadable PDF version of the text and other similar documents here (http://colgravis.blogspot.com/2009/09/praetorian-imperial-guard-background.html)

3 - STC Russ design, so its as GW decribes a powerplant which will run on just about anything combustable.

The casts are in and the stock is uploaded onto my new webstore ready for sale, presenting Curious Constructs, http://www.curiousconstructs.co.uk!

Unfortunately there was a bit of a disaster with the Heavy Laser Rifle, which means I need to build a new master, so thats going to be delayed, I'm hopeful that I'll get that, and the Life Guard heads done for mid July, but time will tell, hopefully the Gatling Gun will be ready by then as well.

At the moment here are the finished products.

1. The 'polymer' pith helmet sounds like another "made in china" NVA helmets that becomes widely available here in Thailand. actually i have this 'polymer pith helmets' with that Indochine 'colonial' design. bought long time ago but rarely wear it. have you ever own any?
2. So you discovered that metals make a better materials than resin?
3. While praetorian tanks/vehicles are usually painted in Red/Blue scheme, you've chose gray. What are the perceptions of the troops towards these armors? do they generally view them as a mobile artillery pieces (thus filling the role of Horse Artillery) ? or as one form of cavalry?
GB was once painted all field guns in grey. is it codex grey? fortress grey? or SW grey?
4. History course on 'British Colonial pith helmet' design please
4.1 Materials: I don't think that the colonial designs do have any shellproof values that's why Brits introduce steel kettle helmet.
4.2 Protection: If. by the late Victorian era. percussion shells are less fragmented than ones in the WW1, and ideals of 'antiballistic body armor' has been dropped off (i believed that Cuirassiers were began to phased out by then. replaced with carabinier units instead as rifled carbines become as accurate as full size rifles). what are the protections does this pith helmet provides? is it still provide any protections from blades when fighting cavs?
5. And if I am to add a section of Leman Russ MBT into my army in the future. which of the two paintschemes do you think it fits the looks of my army? http://www.fastdicerolling.com/forum/topic/29-lone-cat-1st-imperial-guard-army-wip/
A. grey
B. catachan green
C. typical praetorian... AKA. Red and Blue
D. what do you say?.....................

meow.

I can't even remember when I started this, but at long last, the Leviathan build is finished!

New sponson turrets, new main gun, new flank armour, and a few hundred rivets, a couple of pots of liquid green stuff, and now for some paint!

dude them be some cool praetorians, very good
only criticism is how their way too clean, maybe weather them up or something but to me they look a bit dull

Novelist, I'm a fan of the clean factory fresh look, which I've always felt was not entirely inappropriate for the Praetorian regiment, that said I am planning on weathering my vehicles a little more as part of my revamp of the army - while the infantry are getting some improved highlighting etc.

For the moment though, the Leviathans back from my mates, basecoat work done.

Now its my turn again!

It's been a long time since I worked on my own Praetorian Imperial Guard, time to reboot!

I've collected about 10k points of Praetorians over the years, most of which is unpainted admittedly, at the moment I'm working mostly on my own models though. At the moment I'm toying with parting with some of the unpainted Praetorians, leaving just a company for GW tournaments, and replacing them with these new models.

I've got two main projects on the go at the moment, first are my Praetorian Life Guards, Storm Troopers. I originally converted some several years ago based on Cadian plastics with Praetorian head swaps, but when the new Scions came out I knew they would be perfect so I sculpted up a new head, had the masters of this back from the caster last week and assembled a quick test model - now just waiting for the production mould to be spun so I can get on with a couple of squads worth.

My other plan is Firing Line Infantry, so I've been working on these, just need to finish some arms now for Sergeants and these will also be off to the casters. I've done a single piece torso with gun levelled, kneeling and standing legs, which match up to the heads I've done before!
